Great blend - one of my favorite dry blends for the price — 6 years ago
Low alcohol content and decent tannins make this wine easy drinking. And not bad for a prelude to something more serious down the road. — 8 years ago
Work has been hectic. Needed some me time tonight. F it (or no, F is also very good, but in this case I "I" 'd it. I I'd it. Id it? Oh F it you know what I mean!!!) Orin Swift letter (location) bottles are some of the best value bottles out there. Italy doesn't disappoint - $16 well-spent. Other me time highlights tonight: sushi, massage w/ a focus on occipitalis (oh yes....), my new fav JT jam on the radio, and being giddy about Chelsea's new Netflix show premier tonight. Oh, and this post was brought to you by the letter I — 9 years ago
This wine is quite dark in the glass. Its nose is powerful, loaded with dark notes like black cherry, tar, leather, and tobacco. The palate is just as dark, with brambly cherry and plum flavors and a heavy dose of earthy minerality. The finish fades more quickly than I would like, because a savory delight is left behind after the sip. I would have this with a lamb burger or Italian sausage and be very happy with the pairing. — 7 months ago
Deep and rich, but with good acidity and a hint of minerals. Would be interesting to see how this develops. — 3 years ago
Schioppettino. Rustic, earthy funkiness. Blackberries, citrus pith, white pepper, brambles. Apparently rare in the US, from Fermented Grapes. — 5 years ago
Good balanced, good aftertaste of this wine blow you away. Purple color reminds young Saperavi or liquid consistency in the glass, or gouache concentrate.
Small tannins, low acidic, becoming elder would be jam.
Grapes from Old vines and maceration applied. rye croutons, smoked salami in the nose. — 7 years ago

Through a veil of transparent berry fruit and delicate dried flowers the secondaries become the primaries: damp earth, mushroom tea, tomato leaves. Fine acidic structure. — 9 years ago

A bit musty when first opened, but developed beautifully over a couple of days. — 3 years ago
A blend of mostly Nero d'Avola adding some Petit Verdot, Syrah and a few other grapes. Deep Ruby with aromas of dark berry fruits, sweet notes and spicy scents. On the palate flavors of blackberry and black cherry, currant like, with notes of cacao, licorice and sweet spice, well balanced with acidity. Fine tannins, long finish, ending with fruit, tobacco and sweet earthy character. Very nice! — 3 years ago
