Burn Cottage

Central Otago Pinot Noir 2012

Manages to be both a straightforward, fruit driven Pinot and something much more elusive and special at the same time. Chili, chocolate, espresso, cassis, all sorts of red and black fruits. Sourced in Vancouver for not-little money but seems to me quite worth it, definitely one of the top tier Otago wines. — 9 years ago

2017 better than 2016 which I didn’t like that much — 6 years ago

Tugwell Creek Meadery

Vintage Sac 2015

It's all about the honey. A blend of classic Vancouver Island varietal honeys form a complex, oak-aged, sweet Mead that is finally balanced. Sweet and syrupy! — 8 years ago

Sea Cider

Kings & Spies Cider

Pale golden white. Short brief head in pour, moderate carbonation with medium sized bubbles. Label says it’s part of Heirloom Series, 8% alcohol. Pleasant perfumed apple aromas in nose. Expected McIntosh flavor profile in mouth but much more subtle and complex than that. Ever so slightly off dry, slight astringency in finish so very gently pressed. Slight malic snap in finish. Well crafted and superior product — 7 years ago

As I continue my never-ending and tireless search for the perfect “10” of IPAs a friend recommended that I try this one. The “Filthy Dirty” IPA from Parallel 49 Brewing Company, Vancouver BC, although not the perfect “10” it certainly ranks in the top tier of great IPAs. With its crisp mouth feel, hints of fruit and clean clarity on your palate this Canadian is a hops lover’s delight. Oh with so many great IPAs to taste and so little time, I need help. Cheers 🍻🇨🇦 — 8 years ago

Sandhill

Hidden Terrace Vineyard Sauvignon Blanc 2016

I am drinking this wine from British Columbia, in Tofino on Vancouver Island, looking out over the Pacific Ocean as the sun is setting. An epic moment, if ever there was one. And the wine? Very, very nice, or awesome as the locals say here. — 9 years ago
