Holding up well. Very smooth and awesome initial blackberry hints, solid finish to access N Y strip steak tonight. — 6 years ago

Happy Halloween (again). Next up 2012 Nickel & Nickel. I chose opening the State Ranch (Yountville) bc it's probably the lightest and most approachable of the '12s from N&N. It's not one of their big Napa cabs: much more subtle. Some nice chocolate and blueberry notes — 9 years ago
1989. Way too sweet like a sec leads to a heavy back palate n lack of body support. Bit dragging. Drink. — 9 years ago
I had this with Indian food. Had the 2008 harvest. Red currant, strawberry, blackberry, maybe a hint of vanilla? Excellent , excellent wine! Also I believe it's a sub$30 wine. Definitely worth buying a case if I can find it! — 12 years ago
Great champagne. Had with Ruinart all Chardonnay. Defs more flavor- Pinot blend — 4 years ago
Tomato nose, forest floor, my kinda boy. — 5 years ago
Smoky herbaceousness, mossy maples, avocado skin, pencil shavings in a weird, carbon paper aquarium. Swim with me through black currant vapor, then dive into graphite and burnt blackberry bathtubs, strip off your camp-smoke sweater, relax in the haystack, fern and mesquite mulch, and briary arms of the cedar and gun smoke fed vinous swamp-franc!
A few friends were underwhelmed by this wine, and perhaps got tired bottles, but this one was a chunk of fiery biomass. — 8 years ago
One of a kind. Not likely to see very much of this jewel in the future. — 8 years ago
The peaches are so intense on the nose and palate. Great, great stuff! — 8 years ago

Our favorite Spring day is when we get plant the yard. Especially, during Covid-19 lockdown. Never more enjoyable.
Flowers by Sofia. Garden is me.
A great weather day and worthwhile doing a cheers with of one of our favorite N/V Rosé Champagne’s.
With the lockdown, I am running dangerously low on Rosé Champange. I might have to Soda Stream some Rosé wine soon.
All my many, many notes still apply.
Cheers all and Happy Easter if you celebrate it. 🍾🥂🍷 🐣 🐰 — 4 years ago
Gorgeous CA Sauvignon Blanc - peaches & blossoms on the nose, with a fruity, dry palate and an abrupt, tart finish. Lovvvvve it. — 5 years ago
Marvelous floral nose, very well balanced. Top notch Pinot — 7 years ago
Nose: rich flavours: red pepper, violets. Great freshness. Red and black fruit (black and red berries), bit of garigue, juniper, time.
Palate: silky and smoothy, although still young style. Good lightness and acidity, red fruit – elegance and finesse of an higher altitude.

No decant needed. BBQ smoke, black pepper, beefy, fatty, bloody, little funk, slight floral lift at the end. Black fruit, herb and black pepper palate. Medium acid, medium length finish. Really good stuff. Sub $50 N. Rhone that checks all the boxes. — 8 years ago
A very good Nickel & Nickel, smooth but tastes young. Another 5 years and it's going to be delicious. The 2012 N&Ns are opening very well this year. — 8 years ago
Actually delectable it's an elegant blend of predominately Cabernet Sauvignon with Malbec, Merlot and Petite Verdot. Lots of fresh fruit (considering it's 10 years on) cassis, red current. Still can hold this one for some time. — 9 years ago
