Pre Thanksgiving meal champagne and it’s one of my favorite. Nice vanilla and starfruit notes on the nose. Upfront it’s like an orange starburst and finishes with some candied ginger. The aftertaste is nicely acidic and dry, hanging on the palate like a mild grapefruit. I love raiding the in-law’s wine cellar! — 4 years ago

Brown butter, baked apple and a hint of mint on the nose. Love the mouth feel on this one, it’s super velvety and grapefruit tingly. Tropical fruits upfront, like guava and pineapple. Finishes like pineapple juice. Maybe I’ll put a little pineapple juice in it…sorry! — 3 years ago

While Mumm occupies one of the most iconic sites in Champagne, Moulin de Verzenay, it’s just not popular in the U.S., so it’s easy to dismiss Mumm Napa as a cheap supermarket brand. Well I’m glad I tried this.
While this PN dominated Rose lacks the refinement of a Champagne, the abundance of fresh fruits such as cherry, strawberry, watermelon, grapefruit, and citrus make this a joy to drink. Crisp, energetic, and dry, this is so good for under $20. — 4 years ago
Nectarine and black currant on the nose. Apple upfront with a medium syrupy body. Decent amount of heat starting on the mid-palate and increasing over time. Finishes with a hint of rhubarb. — 5 years ago
What’s not to love? Autolytic character is balanced nicely by fruit. Acidity is as per usual for champagne. — 6 years ago
Bought this at the winery in Napa and saved over the years for a special occasion. Opened last night with my cookbook team celebrating the release of the book. I really enjoyed this bottle. I don't like the typical all chardonnay champagnes - this one was a nice softer wine. — 7 years ago

Good not great. Strawberry. A bit harsh. Definitely tastes like rose but have had better. Maybe skip if just for drinking vs. toast. — 2 years ago
