Last tasted this vintage two years ago. Good then, better now. Deeper bouquet and longer finish. — 9 years ago
When you want to drink Bovio Barolo, you must go to Bovio Ristorante in La Morra. Wine is still fresh and showing wonderfully. This was available in Atlanta at one point. I hope all got to taste it. — 10 years ago
Classic Barolo. Needs time. — 10 years ago
We had the honor of a private tasting with Silvia Altare in the Michele Chiarlo tasting room at Palas Cerequio in La Morra. Silvia is the daughter of Elio Altare, Godfather of modern Barolo. She is a delightful, humorous, efferevescent and worthy heir to her family's craft. The 2010 is a culmination of all the family has learned since they began making Barolo in small casks, and revolutionizing what was otherwise (at the time) little more than small fruit production in the Barolo region. She tells the story of her grandfather leaving the vineyard for two days and her father taking a chainsaw to the family's traditional large casks in favor of his new approach.
Elegant, with perfect poise in tannins and acidity, this single cru from Arborina will go for decades. — 11 years ago
Excellent modernist barolo, much better on day 2, heat and oak lessened allowing minerality to come through. Succulent black raspberry fruit, vivid and fresh w great acids, extremely aromatic rose, tar, and black raspberry nose. Firm, yet lightly gripping tannin, and expansive palate. Very good 'soft' la morra barolo! 2007 vintage. — 11 years ago

Desperation dinner spot in La Morra — 10 years ago
A nose of dark soil and ripe cherries. Bit of a spice on the pallet along with a bouquet of fresh fruit, mainly cherries. Finish is warm and lightly acidic. — 10 years ago
Soft and elegant. Showing why La Morra is so approachable versus some of the Monforte and Serralunga wines. — 11 years ago
Perfect example of well kept and aged barolo from one of the master of La Morra. It doesn't get any better than that — 11 years ago
Feeling bad we left Barolo out. Only natural...really good. Nice fruit. Def drinkable. But wants to go back to bed a little longer. — 12 years ago
Barbera d Alba — 13 years ago
Black raspberry, cherry, and tar meet spice box, leather and licorice on the nose. Floral characters are there too. Round oak notes of vanilla bean and cedar bark lead to a bright cherry fruit mid-palate which transitions into a sweet, but savory finish, highlighted with juicy cherry fruit. Chalky tannins on the backend drive a sense of minerality. Purchased at the enoteca in La Morra in 2016. Drink with decant or hold. — 7 years ago
Honeysuckle, sweet and dry. Floral finish. — 8 years ago
Still very young but that La Morra subtlety is in evidence already - soft tannins, initial nose of citrus peel giving way to classic Nebbiolo character. This will only get better — 9 years ago
Super sweet; syrupy — 10 years ago
