This is a nice and light Cabernet Franc from Virginia. Showing red and blue fruits with earth, honeysuckle, chocolates, oak, vegetables and spices.
Light ruby in color with medium intensity.
Very pretty nose, sweet and flowery.
Medium bodied with medium acidity.
Good right out of the bottle., light and airy. Would be nice to revisit it in a couple of years.
A good food wine that I paired with a charcuterie board of meats and cheeses olive crackers.
12% alcohol by volume.
89 points.

Honestly, the best Pinot Gris I've ever had! One of the best whites out there! Beats the west coast, hands down! — 8 years ago
Interesting mix of strawberry and melon. Great versatile rose. — 9 years ago
What a great vintage this turning out to be...the hot, dry(er) summer brought a nice balance of sugar and acid. This was wisely Merlot heavy (60%), lending to cherry notes. However, the Merlot is sturdy alto that allows the PV and CF to harmonize their tenor cords. This was from some delightful place between Rhone and the Right Bank :) Well done and a Superb Value at 22$ — 10 years ago

This is my last of 4 bottles of this gold medal winner. PV is what Jefferson specializes in and this one still sings as beautiful with 6+ years of aging — 5 years ago

Buttery, rich, wonderful nose. One of my favorite wines. A bit pricey but worth it. — 10 years ago
Deep garnet color. Aromas of red and blueberries. Lots of fruit on the mouth feel. Super smooth finish. Enjoyable. — 10 years ago

Really enjoyed the balance of fruit and oak - good for a cooler day when you still want a white. Not ideal summer drinking wine — 5 years ago

Loved this. Subtle Spice. Velvety texture, soft. Touch of cinnamon. Berries, maybe currant. Went great with our Christmas rib eye roast. — 7 years ago
Loved it. Nice dry wine! — 7 years ago
Came for the cherry, stayed for the black pepper. The spice lasts throughout the lengthy finish. Would go nicely with a pepper crusted filet or any righteously seasoned beef. — 10 years ago
I always like this one. Oak is prevalant but well used. Round, supple and long with plenty of ripe stone fruit and melon to fill it out. But then, im rather partial to corley. — 10 years ago

Linear yet elegant…dense, darker red fruit carries balance thru the attack into a medium+ weighted finish (think artisan cola) - highlighting fine grain tannins. Fall Herbs lend subtle accent to polished build. Oak is not intrusive The 2016 Meritage is a blend of 45% Merlot, 28% Petit Verdot, 9% Cabernet Franc, 9% Malbec, and 9% Cabernet Sauvignon. The majority of the fruit came from Rougemont vineyard in Keswick, VA, with the remainder coming from Adventure Farm, Wild Meadow, Carter's Mountain, and Honah Lee. The grapes are fermented with natural yeast in stainless steel tanks and then barrel aged in 54% new French oak individually and blended for a total of 21 months. We believe that the Bordeaux blends produce some of Virginia's best and most expressive wines. The 2016 Meritage blend is a reflection of what we strive for in both the grape growing and winemaking. — 4 years ago
