Absolutely a beautiful expression of Brunello! — 2 months ago
Love it — still fresh, sour cherry, leather, tannins — 2 months ago
Immediately delicious upon pop-n-pour… but developed significantly over the course of a 3-4 hour decant. This stuff is simply delicious… perfectly balanced and complex. This firmly has a spot in my top 5 favorite BdMs… (which says a lot!) — 2 months ago
Dinner at Suraya Lebanese place first time. With Yuki and Jeff. 12 years old Dragon year proud cycle and it’s still got time to age. Beautiful balanced Chianti that evolved in glass over the dinner. Paid corkage instead of ordering from just though it did have interesting wines including from Lebanon. — 3 months ago
The 2016 Brunello di Montalcino is youthfully coy in the glass, slowly opening with a delicate blend of smoked meats, cedar dust, crushed rocks and dried strawberries. It’s soft and enveloping with silky textures, a sweet and sour interplay of mineral-tinged berries and balsamic spice hints. Fine tannins mount toward the close. This finishes youthfully tense and grippy with a bump of residual acidity to balance its saturation of primary components. The 2016 is in an odd and slightly dormant place in its evolution. Perfectly aged from a strong year made the nose magical. Tannins integrated and fab. — 7 months ago
Really a delicious brunello. Surprisingly ready to go - opened several hours prior but didn’t decant. Great black fruit, excellent balance, very good refreshing acid, medium plus tannins but works with food. Would be interesting to see in a couple years but quite nice now. — 7 months ago
Lovely Sangiovese — 9 months ago
Medium ruby hue. Aromas and flavors of cherry, sage, tar, vanilla, and violet. Medium-plus body, with medium-plus tannins and high acidity. Lengthy finish. Meaty bouquet surprisingly similar to Northern Rhone Syrah. Rounded and plush. — a month ago
Medium to full, strong tanin that smoothen with in one hour from opening. Tasty. — a month ago
Another oldie but goodie !!! — 2 months ago
The 2019 Nobile di Montepulciano is a pleasure on the nose. Sweet spice complements raspberry and cherry aromas. Juicy acidity balances silky textures as rose-tinged red berries cascade across the palate. There’s a gentle coating of fine tannins and lovely energy as hard red candy hints fade. $25.00 (Eric Guido, Vinous, November 2023) — 5 months ago

Crisp, clean, light floral bouquet, medium acidity, slight fruity aftertaste, good in its own and bursts with flavor when paired with fresh crudo, fruit, and salads. — 8 months ago
2018: starting to drink well despite youth. Good measure of earthy edge keeps the fruit and tannins in balance. $40 sale at VR — a month ago
Marvelous! — a month ago
My word - this is nearly perfect! Mature and perfect on the nose, robust & sturdy on the palette. Smooth finish with old world French notes, but in a smoother less heavy yet still flavourful Italian style. Sips well alone or with a meal. Just wow! — 2 months ago
Ferrari – Carano Sienna 2021 – Sonoma County Red Wine (Byerlys January 2024)
“From the deep, rich, burnt orange soils of the Ferrari-Carano Vineyards comes this appealing red wine blend comprised of select lots of Sangiovese, Malbec, Petite Sirah and Cabernet Sauvignon grapes. This vibrant wine is bursting with flavors of blackberries, raspberry jam, cola, cinnamon and spice. Sweet oak notes and hints of butterscotch from barrel-aging add layers of richness to this elegantly balanced red wine blend with a beautiful lingering finish.” — 3 months ago
This vintage of Pieve Santa Restituta is delicious. To be more specific: the best word to describe it is the English "smooth". The Polish "smooth" does not reflect the nuances. 🙂 Tannins pleasantly tighten the tongue. The acidity is perfect for me. Fleeting fruitiness on the nose, but none on the palate. Back to the nose: spices and herbs, especially thyme, some tobacco. I love the dryness of this wine. — 6 months ago
