Took an hour or so to open up, but pretty good once it did. Beautifully clear Ruby red color, medium- viscosity. Nose sees oak, ripe cherries, some mustiness and earthiness. Palette sees cherry cough drops, cola, ripe cherries. A short finish was a little disappointing, but as some that isn't a huge Piedmont fan, I enjoyed this. — 8 years ago

This 2001 brunello still has a fair amount of fruit and acidity. Dark fruit and elegant finish. It went extremely well with veal parmigiana and pork chop at Carbone. The restaurant decanted and it can definitely age longer in the bottle. Only 1400 cases made. — 11 years ago

Very nice, some evolution, sweet red fruit, velvetty tannines, lingering aftertaste.
On the second day this wine really comes alive. Younger feeling, fresh and lively fruit. Adjust score to 90! — 10 years ago
