We all know Malbec right… however have you ever tried Bonarda (also known as Douce Noir) from Argentina? It’s lesser known than Malbec however it’s Argentina’s 2nd most widely planted red grape.

We picked this one up from Good Pair Days and also made the matching Mustard Stuffed Chicken to go with it 🫶

Ruby red colour in the glass with hints of red liquorice, cherries, plums, raspberries and a sprinkling of spice on the nose. In the mouth it’s juicy, fruity and a whole lot of fun 🥳

Strong tannin, robust flavor. Cherry, oak, baking spice right off the bat, cinnamon and vanilla. Let it breath for a bit and you get plum and raspberry. Mild to medium acidity. Part 1 of the final and main event for the Fall WNH. The most spectacular lineup of wines I’ve ever seen, and an overall wonderful ending to an amazing trip with fantastic people.

I made the mistake of enjoying this immediately after the Chablis-like Texture Chardonnay, so I was overwhelmed with the flavors. However, I revisited it later and actually quite enjoyed this. 32 months in oak! Very butterscotch dominant with smoked cashews and a touch of marzipan. It’s a big boy Chardonnay that holds its power well. Very unique. Thanks for the intro to this @David L . — 8 years ago
