Ended up with this bottle by surprise and it was surprisingly good — 6 years ago
No mistaking the California roots, but deft usage of oak, mineral undertones and vibrant acidity make it an enjoyable drink. Fruit a bit more on the tropical side with pineapple and Myers lemon. Light vanilla. Improved after several hours of air with increasing complexity. Medium + body. — 7 years ago
If chardonnay was made in a lemonade flavor. Perfect pairing with Meg Myers "Lemon Eyes" but was made better with U2's Lemon...
A man builds a city
With banks and cathedrals
A man melts the sand so he can
See the world outside
A man makes a car
(She's your destination)
And builds roads to run them on
A man dreams of leaving
But he always stays behind
And these are the days
When our work has come asunder
And these are the days
When we look for something other

Had a crazy opportunity to taste this wine recently, along with many others on the owners 127' yacht in Ft Myers recently. Joe and his wife own Benovia Winery in the RRV AND MAKES SOME FABULOUS JUICE. This particular one is outstanding, full of raspberries, cherries, chocolate and a little hint of vanilla, in perfect balance. Outstanding nose, including a wonderful floral component. Never had this producer before this trip, but am becoming a huge fan in a short amount of time. Bought several more to share, and introduce fellow wine friends to Benovia! — 6 years ago

So, here's the story with this. Apparently it was the brainchild of McPrice Myers and Russell From. Russell is the owner of Herman Story, which I obviously have an affinity for given my icon here! Sounds like they had a had breakup and Myers got Barrel 27. He's renamed it Blue Collar so this is being liquidated.
At $19, there is tremendous value here! Near black in the glass. Clove, cedar & sweet oak dominate the nose. Blackberry and cassis on the palate. Good acidity. Moderate tannins. Finish lingers for about 10seconds. — 8 years ago
Still a winner! — 8 years ago
