Very nice indeed. A little fuller than it should be having left it far too long but my other half loved it. — 5 years ago

Great Rose! The Grenache makes it dry and not sweet like a typical Rose. Very enjoyable. — 7 years ago

Reserve The Full Fifteen Shiraz Cabernet Sauvignon 2017

Clearly a divisive wine, but thankfully right up my street! Full bodied deep flavour, nice bit of spice and grip. Very nice. — 5 years ago

Castaño Prado Vineyards Albariño 2016

Was highly skeptical of trying a cheap Texas wine, but was pleasantly surprised. Albariño is one of my favorite white grape varietals, and after learning that Spanish and Portuguese grapes do particularly well in the Texas climate thought I’d give it a shot. Crisp, very refreshing, Happy 4th! — 6 years ago

@Shay A I’ve seen your post about Ron Yates, really want to give his wines a try. Met some guys at an Austrian/German wine shop in Fredericksburg, and they gave me a list of smaller wineries that they say are worth checking out next time I’m down there. Had no idea that a majority of grapes are grown out towards Lubbock. Cheers

@Arden Barnett : My wife and I did a visit down there last spring and found some neat wineries. Kuhlman Cellars and Calais Winery were standouts. Happy to share some bottles if/when we meet up. You should come to Classic Wine Storage one day when we have a group up there...it’s quite the event.

@Shay A both of those are on my list! I believe Jack and Ben talked a few weeks ago about getting a wine dinner going later this month. I will talk to Jack and we will try and get something setup soon. Y’alls get togethers at Classic Wine always look amazing.

Verde Verde White Blend 2019

2019 blend not stated on label. Better than 2018 blend. Non-vintage white wine blend but varietal percentages change from year to year. This 2019 blend has 65% Albariño and 35%Trebbiano. Crisp, refreshing, better balance between acidity and sweetness. Excellent and recommended. — 5 years ago

Laneway Shiraz 2015

On a journey through Aussie wine and thoroughly enjoying it! Young and bright, but definitely my jam. This one is from Victoria, which is new for me. It has the Smokey earthy qualities of Barossa, with brighter fruit and acid. The label is actually a great sum of the wine itself. Very colorful, graffiti like character, youthful, and full throttle. I'd like to come back to this one after it sits in the bottle a little and I think due to the alcohol it needs to decant an hour plus to let a little of the heat evaporate out, but this stuff otherwise was excellent. — 6 years ago
