This is an excellent Marsala!!! Complex on the nose, elegant with an outstanding finish...retailing for a little less than $11 this is a steal if you can find it — 10 years ago
Great structure, strong tannins with bright light fruit. Had with lamb chops and wild mushroom ravioli with Marsala creme sauce and it was a perfect — 11 years ago
Lovely fortified wine. Easy sipping and not too sweet. A great value for the price. — 11 years ago
Very good! Light and floral. Nice with a heavier meal (like Chicken Marsala) — 13 years ago
A very elegant charmer of an orange wine. Cattaratto is the racy component of Marsala (Grillo is the phat cat purring in the sunshine...), and this jets into terra incognita with aplomb, showing tricks with acidity, a bit of residual sugar that honeys like apricots, and just a kiss of tawny tannin structure. This could roll with anything from lamb curry to caponata to hamachi collar in a miso glaze.... — 10 years ago
Nice sweetness and nuttiness. A beautifully complex dessert wine. — 11 years ago
Fantastic meditation wine! — 11 years ago
Venezia Giulia IGT 1988, 10%. Bottle tasted in November 2014.
Unusual!
Unexpected!
Unforgettable!
There is oxidation in the wine, so the color is a very dark copper green. The nose detects candied fruits, dates, Marsala.
In the mouth is quite extraordinary (it was my first taste of such wine), rich and persistent, with acidity, and an aftertaste of toasted peanuts. — 11 years ago
#westsicilywine Extremely dry, elegant, long finish. Wow! — 13 years ago
Sweet Easy friendly style, this Marsala from a traditional and historic house deliver nice crafted wine, delicious it will fit plenty of delicious dishes and mostly, certainly desserts and cheeses 😀 a nice example that good Marsala is for drinking and not for cooking 😉 — 13 years ago
Delish! Great after dinner wine — 14 years ago
Fine example of a Virginia Cab Franc. Drank great right out of the bottle without decanting. Plenty of fruit still present and nice balance. Was wonderful with grilled chicken marsala. — 10 years ago
Very good with Veal Marsala. — 11 years ago
Golden amber color, medium body, smells of toffee, dried orange peel, walnut, dried apricot, dried fig, white balsamic and caramel, medium body and very smooth mouthfeel, smells like a very sweet wine but it is not, tastes between a manzanilla to oloroso sherry, very complex tasting profile, smooth long finish with an amaretto like bitter aftertaste and then a slight hint of sweetness similar to having a biscotti. — 11 years ago
2003 vintage. Rustic flavors that pair perfectly with my veal Marsala. — 12 years ago
#westsicilywine Lightly sweet, also this one is elegant and long. Awesome. — 13 years ago
Forget contemporary Marsala. Here is the closest, modern relative of the ancestral wine made in Marsala wine region, the Perpetuum. Stellar. — 13 years ago
