It's got telltale orange margins the ultimate velvet glove. Spicy with such depth. What a treasure. — 12 years ago
1996 but tastes 10 years younger. Slight fade on margins, medium plus body, bold cassis aromas with a slight stewed element, cedar and woodsy secondary notes. Acidity is good, tannins are velvet, fruit is receding but still there. Long smooth finish. This is a phenomenal expression of aged Napa Cab. — 11 years ago
This is one of the oldest-vine xinomavros out there, 80+ years I believe. It certainly has the old-vine elegance though without quite the seve, that inner density. It pours out neon-bright in the glass and gushing with fresh, just-crushed primary-fruit scents, almost like a Beaujolais. Texturally it is on the pinot noir rather than the nebbiolo side of xinomavro - extremely polished. It doesn't show any wood flavors, except that the fruit seems singed at the margins like the charcoal crust on a steak, turning gravelly with air. — 11 years ago

@Delectable Wine This is a '99 Prager Madeline Late Harvest Riesling. Happy Holy Holidays. Butterscotch, honeycomb, rum-soaked apricot, with a floral character rounding out the margins. Purchased on a trip to the winery on a very rainy day...fifteen years ago. — 10 years ago
