Magnum 2006 Harlan. HB for Barry M. No way to decant, but it opened up a lot in the glass. Drinking great now. — 6 years ago
From a magnum...for a '90 there seems to be no color progression on it at all, even at the edges. There is a minty, herbaceous note to it but it has great blackberry flavors and nice firm tannins on the finish. Really incredible how well this is holding up and an outstanding expression of Napa Valley Cab! — 8 years ago
Shut down a little. Very good from Magnum but needs more time — 11 years ago
Deep gold to amber color. Beautiful clearly defined nose of green apple, hint of almond powder marzipan and buttered toast. Medium body with high acidity. Leads to an ultra long finish with mouthwatering fresh acidity. Really awesome stuff. Out of Magnum. — 5 years ago
Magnum...birth year/first father's day — 6 years ago
2009. Only one plot at Silver Oak affected. Today, a family member commented that CA wines may be all gone. I responded I'd rather never drink another glass but have all those innocent people and homes back. In the meantime, we continue to drink our Napa faves in our cellar- it's Friday, so this one's a magnum. #NapaFire — 8 years ago
Nice and smooth. Good value Cabernet — 8 years ago
Another magnum. Pristine shape. All guessed this as a Cali Cab. Wonderful wine! — 10 years ago
The first magnum was corked! But the second is a piece of work! Great balance showing classic tar and roses, with elegance.

2001 Corison Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon. Awesome wine 9.6... but I like it better from magnum 10.0! Drinking and watching my Duke Blue Devils. Who gets the 2001 significance? — 11 years ago

From magnum with low shoulder fill. Appropriately branded cork came out intact. Dark reddish purple, opaque. Reddish orange rims. Heavy nose of leather saddle, blackberries, cranberries, dark unsweetened chocolate, walnuts, and some old wine funk. Fruit forward in the mouth and very rich. Structure, acidity and fruit all still perfectly balanced. With air it improved over 6 hours, and new notes like menthol and quarry stone in the nose were noted. This wine is probably not going to get better, but should be fine in the near term to hopefully show like this big boy did tonite. — 10 years ago
The Campo Al Mare pairs fantastic with Lamb and Sausage Cacciatore. When cooking Italian choose wisely. — 11 years ago
