Mature brownish red garnet. Transparent but youthful for its age.

Classic claret perfume from the first second of opening and kept getting better as the night went on. Truffle, shiitake mushroom, old leather, potpourri.

Complete integration with no sign of stumbling over the hill. Bright red fruit, smoky cedar, earthy soil tone, cooking spices. The mouthfeel is supple and elegant, no excess or pretension. Clean and fully mature.

A birthday bottle opened for by a dear friend and a reason why I am so devoted to this wonderful journey. Last long in memory. 92. — 9 years ago

Nose is oily and full of liquorice, fennel, lots of tropical fruits, and chalkywet minerals; on the palate the wine is equally oily, fruity, robust, peppery and with a high-octane finish. Lush, round flavors of crunchy pear and lemon zest lead to deep stony notes. The wine finishes a touch fruity and juicy with long, ripe acidity and a touch of earthiness.
