Latte, loamy tilled earth fill the nose. Steadily builds from soft velvety tannins to a full focused mouthfeel offering a intriguing mix of plum, bourbon soaked cherry, and jam. Tannins and acidity are very much alive, finishes strong with a smoked olive hint. Love the story behind Realm, as a Veteran, to see two other Veterans work so passionately to achieve great success is simply awesome! @Juan Mercado — 7 years ago

2012, Cantine Madonna Delle Grazie, Sagaris IGT Basilicata Rose Aglianico Del Vulture. 100 percent Aglianico Rose. Aglianico is one of my favorite varietals. This Rose had very little on the nose. Flavors were a little strawberry, juniper and rose petal. Very light and mellow, good summer, patio wine but I expected more. — 10 years ago

Great appetizer/cocktail hour opening wine. We like it so much more after meeting and visiting with Benedetta at the winery in Montalcino. — 7 years ago
Light straw in color with a golden tint.
Aromatic nose of lemons, red apples, light diesel, white flowers, grass, minerals and wet stones.
Medium-bodied, crisp, refreshing and engaging, with medium plus acidity and thin legs.
Off-dry on the palate with lemons, red apples, melons, pears, minerals, rocks and light herbs.
A nice long finish with tangy limes.
This German Riesling based blend, is refreshing and Well-balanced, with great acidity for the ample fruit. It shows no bitterness nor tartness at all , just wonderful.
Good as a sipping wine to have by the pool or the beach, but also goes great with Thai food, seafood or spicy food.

Out of the bottle into the glass. A suspiciously translucent and raisiny brown. This wine suffers from progeria... not a bad thing if your a 2011 Barolo sitting open on my counter but extremely unfortunate if your lying around in some cellar doing nothing. The clock is ticking on this one. A quick swirl and a whiff meh... Smells like Nebbiolo. Cheap Nebbiolo. First taste mere seconds in the glass.... Flat and watery... Watery, the key sign of an oxygen starved bottle... Some wines need to breathe... Some don't. This one does. Just a little... A baby's breath... Well actually, I dipped an aero latte in it and gave it a whirl until it developed a rich creamy head and Wow! This little wrinkly, raisinated tot matured into Barolo! With roses and tar and terra cotta earthiness and a palate to match. What a surprise! — 8 years ago

The Chimp
Benedetta knows how to make a great wine. This comes from a tiny family owned estate on the east side of the hill in Montalcino. Benedetta's father worked these vines for years before he saved up to buy them. They only make 13,000 bottles / year I believe. Think of their Super Tuscan starter /first course wine, the Rossi as the brother, and their Brunello as the "dad". Buy this bottle. — 7 years ago
