One of three offerings from Mad Fritz last night @ NVWTG. Not usually a stout fan, I thoroughly enjoyed this well balanced brew. Wish I had snapped pics of the others! Great beer with a great story. Serious craftsmanship at work. — 8 years ago
Stunning. Smooth, rich, clean, perfect. — 8 years ago
Not a white wine guy, but this has a nice complexity to it. Paired great with spicy sausage on a gourmet pizza. Would buy regularly if more readily available. — 9 years ago
2002 vintage. Great for what Lopez de Heredia is going for stylistically, but still more oxidative than I like my Rioja. Impressively fresh acid for the age, though, and perfect middle ground solution for all foods we had (roasted char, steak, brick chicken, duck). — 9 years ago
Excellent wine for the price. — 10 years ago

Today we arrive at the last of our '03 on this bottle, many vintage's prior now in the memory banks as well. We fell in love with Anderson Valley Pinot Noir a long time ago, it always seemed to be the perfect balance of middle-weight flavors on the West Coast between the fruity PN's a few hours south, and the jammy PN's many hours north. We still buy this bottle every year since '97, but the quantities have lessened. In the late 2000's Duckhorn seemed to go crazy and instead of continually focusing on making one great bottle with Goldeneye, they diversfied like mad scientists. I'm thinking they got overrun by marketing folks at the top of their ranks. Nonetheless, it's always been a great bottle of PN. — 7 years ago
