Fairly soft at PnP but as planned, I gave this about 6h slow ox. The time softened it to velvet, and blew off the musty oak to reveal something clean, focused, yet complex. Layer aromatics of eucalyptus, black cherry, plum, lavender/violet, and black tea. Lively, fresh fruit strikes you with a touch of ma la as they say in Chinese - here, mild numbing spice - wrapped in a border of light, clean acid and that velvety upholstery, finishing with black plum. waldgries mirell lagrain ... aperto sprizza profumi di frutta come se fosse appena stato svinato, rubino intenso impenetrabile, poi arriva la parte vegetale di alloro, di muschio, poi i terziari, in boise, la caramella inglese, la vaniglia il tabacco. tutti perfettamente integrati e armonici, fresco con tannini ancora vivi ma finissimi gustosi. Carmignano classico, sangiovese, i due cabernet e merlot. Grande morbidezza e equilibrio, tannini gustosi e facili da bere, bei terziari che spostano in alto la complessità. Il Carmignano spesso resta in disparte ma merita veramente tanto. — 9 years ago

I opened this with some trepidation but it really over delivered after a two hour decant. Texture and concentration were gorgeous. The only detraction was the overt oak on the finish. But I really think this will integrate in another 5-10 years. — 9 years ago
