Great low key Malbec. — 10 years ago
This wine begins with a bit of cranberry on the nose and continues with delicate, subtle flavors, low alcohol (13.6%) that make it food friendly with just the slightest hint of tannins on the finish. I paired it with a bone in rib eye and it was fantastic. — 10 years ago
Fantastic! Gamble on this wine, but solid. Similar to a California zin. Smooth mouthfeel, smokey, chocolate and dark fruit. Low tannin. Delicious! Definitely buying again. — 10 years ago
Hipsters and low alcohol natural wine buffs are always gonna hate on Caymus. But they do what they do really well. Big, juicy, lots of oak character. Caymus will always do Caymus. — 10 years ago

Pinot Noir blend
A: clear medium red
N: moderate youthful aromas; cherry, berries, pepper?
P: dry, crisp, light, low soft tannins, simple flavors (mostly) of multiple types, good balance, short finish; berries (strawberry, raspberry, blackberry), vanilla, pepper, smoke
O: delicious light Pinot, refreshing — 9 years ago
From magnum with low shoulder fill. Appropriately branded cork came out intact. Dark reddish purple, opaque. Reddish orange rims. Heavy nose of leather saddle, blackberries, cranberries, dark unsweetened chocolate, walnuts, and some old wine funk. Fruit forward in the mouth and very rich. Structure, acidity and fruit all still perfectly balanced. With air it improved over 6 hours, and new notes like menthol and quarry stone in the nose were noted. This wine is probably not going to get better, but should be fine in the near term to hopefully show like this big boy did tonite. — 9 years ago
Clear, deep purple, nearly opaque. Low staining, medium- viscosity. Baked cherries, strawberries, leather, and vanilla on the nose. Palate confirms these notes and adds spicyness, black pepper. Medium body, medium tannins, long and medium complex finish. Amazing wine for the price! — 10 years ago
Smooth. Low tannins. Dry. — 10 years ago
look: pale ruby red core with slightly garnet rim. medium viscosity.
smell: medium intensity aromas of roasted red bell pepper, allepo pepper flake, raspberry sauce, roasted jalapeno. overall, sweet and ripe fruit smells followed by slight iron-like gravel note.
taste: medium + acidity, nearly high acidity, medium - tannin, flavors of smoked tomato, sour cherry, ending with a note of sweet dried/roasted pepper.
profile: flavor is 'bursty' and drops out quickly and then hangs in a very subtle low way on the palate.
purchased with Somm Select. honestly, it could have cellared a few more years. — 11 years ago
This was absolutely delicious. Just the right amount of opulence for me. Dense and rich with a beautiful supporting acidity, fine tannins, and an impressive finish (even with my sinusitis working up). Cassis, cream, tobacco leaf, spice, somewhat smoky in the palate, and a touch of pyrazine to finish. Drinking well now, but will definitely see improvement with time.
Notes: 51% Merlot, 40% Cabernet Sauvignon and 9% Petit Verdot. 2012 had low yields for Ch Palmer. — 8 years ago

This was smooth and delicious. Low tannins and pleasant to the palate. Enjoyed this on its own with olives and cheeses. A sinful way to spend New Years night. — 10 years ago
Utterly delicious. Great on its own, even better with food. Low tannins, cherries — 10 years ago
Good value, spice & strawberries. Light and low acid - fun quaffer if you like it fruit forward but a bit much for me — 10 years ago
Great with lasagna and garlic bread. Holds its' own without overpowering. Very berry, low acidity, flavorful, yet mellow. — 11 years ago
Seems to be getting better and better with age. — 12 years ago

An excellent bang for the buck! Personally, I find Californian CSs to be the best in the world. This is a low end example and it’s still great! Blackberry and dark cherry with hints of toast and spice. Not very long aftertaste though. But definitely a great every-day wine. — 7 years ago
