In 1990, Daniel & Florence Cathiard now own estate. A blend of 55% Cab Sauv, 40% Merlot, 4% Cab Franc, & 1% Petit Verdot. Dark red with dark berry fruit aromas, cedar and sweet spice. This was our second bottle. First was uninspiring and despite the 97pt RP rating, found it to be disappointing. The trick is to let it breathe for at least an hour to let the flavors develop. It is no Opus One but very satisfying with a juicy steak or just plain enjoyment! — 8 years ago

Excuse me for (trusting my palate and) thinking that varietal labeling from this winery and era might not have been 100% correct?
This doesn't taste like aged Pinot but is still very enjoyable.

Nice smoky nose with dried tobacco, peanut oil, iodine, mint and eucalyptus. In the mouth the tannin and acid is still youthful with crisp red apple skin and a hint of grandma's attic peaking thru the finish. — 11 years ago
