Louis M. Martini

Private Reserve Mountain Barbera 1961

When it was opened the nose was shy, 30 minutes later it opened up to a smooth and elegant wine with fruit and soft tannins. Solid and good drinking. Cork was in great shape!! 56 year old wine that has held up beautifully.🍷🍷 — 7 years ago

1973 - a treat from one of the Dan's - very mature dusty and slightly herbal - had the patine of a faded photograph - still a little acidic authority! — 8 years ago

Quartetto Red Blend 1987

Nice smoky nose with dried tobacco, peanut oil, iodine, mint and eucalyptus. In the mouth the tannin and acid is still youthful with crisp red apple skin and a hint of grandma's attic peaking thru the finish. — 9 years ago

Château Smith Haut Lafitte

Le Petit Haut Lafitte Red Bordeaux Blend 2013

The estate dates back to the Crusades, and Scottish navigator, George Smith, the owner in the 18th century. He was followed by M. Duffour-Dubergier, Mayor of Bordeaux, and then Louis Eschenauer, a famous wine shipper. In 1990, Daniel and Florence Cathiard now own the estate. Predominantly Cabernet Sauvignon, darrk berry aromas, herb and spice. On the palate complex juicy black fruit flavors, cinnamon and cacao notes. Soft tannins, rich and full, lingering, mineral, youthful ending, needs time. — 7 years ago

Port Blend

A 10 year old port. The flavor of a robust Cabernet but sweet, thicker, and without tannins. Not tawny in flavor; not ruby in color. It is instead a deep and beautiful red color. Alcohol 18.2% by volume. — 8 years ago

Special Selection California Pinot Noir 1978

Excuse me for (trusting my palate and) thinking that varietal labeling from this winery and era might not have been 100% correct?
This doesn't taste like aged Pinot but is still very enjoyable.
Opening up with time and the last pour (with heavy sediment) was actually the best.

Visual: opaco y algo turbio por los sedimentos. Color profundo.

Nariz: potente, blackberry (mora), cereza, madura. Composta, zetas, cuero, barnyard.

Boca: buen balance, taninos M ya refinados, acidez M, alcohol M+.

Me parece que ya debe tomarse puede estar pasando su pico.
