This is quite a special wine. I don’t care what the others rated this. I like it. Purchased on my trip to Santa Barbara almost 6 years ago. Now I remember why I bought it at the tasting room. Nice floral bouquet, slightly acidic, light translucent color with less than 13 percent alcohol (that’s a good thing). Very good structure that would suggest this wine is in the middle innings and can probably last a few more years — 5 years ago
— 5 years ago
The 2017 Chardonnay is soft, supple and absolutely delicious. Light tropical notes, lemon confit, white flowers and bright acids give the 2017 striking nuance as well as character. The Foxglove Chardonnay is built on a core of fruit from Los Alamos, with a touch of fruit from Paso Robles, vinified and aged in steel, with no malolactic fermentation. Best of all, it is a stunning value. (Antonio Galloni, Vinous, September 2019) — 6 years ago
MZ drank the 2017 vintage at Lo-Fi in Los Alamos on June 28, 2018. Great for an afternoon drinking with book club ladies. — 7 years ago
100% Chardonnay
Medium straw color. Fresh, clear, and transparent.
Sophisticated bouquet showing more restrained fruit profile backed up by clear stone-y/minerally characters.
Structurally, this wine is not as robust as the Los Alamos bottling tasted alongside of it. Med to med low acidity, med body (13.5 abv), dry. Reserved fruit profile of Asian pear and yellow apple. A hint of oak spices such as thyme and cilantro. Pronounced mineral, almost saline notes.
This bottling is rather flat when compared with the Los Alamos. Jim Clendenen said he intentionally made this in a "non-fruit" style that he prefers. Need at least 7 years before this is ready for business. 90+. — 8 years ago
Balanced Wine, nose leads with dark fruit and spice, black cherry especially. No noticeable new oak but perhaps there is a touch, pallet leads with sour cherry, a touch of strawberry, lots of bitter herbs on the finish, tannins that are more flavorful than textural — 4 years ago
What can I say I love anything Angela makes, and the new Tribute to Grace tasting room in Los Alamos is a gem. My Dad declared this was his favorite wine ever and my mom is from nearby Cucamonga, so let’s just say everyone was happy. For that reason, wine of our trip out west after not seeing the folks for 18 months. As always, just incredibly elegant Grenache, light on its feet, but not without its nuanced power — 4 years ago

On the nose; ripe, ruby black plums dominate. Blackberries, black raspberries, dark cherries and strawberries on the edges of the glass. Caramel, beautiful baking spices; cinnamon, clove, vanilla & nutmeg. Mocha, dark cherry cola, soft wood notes, whiff of black pepper, loamy dry soil, dry stones and candied; red & blue florals with dark lavender & violets.
On the palate, the body is nearly full. The tannins are big yet rounded, velvety but still, tarry and sticky. The fruits are beautifully ripe gorgeous, velvety & creamy. Plums, blackberries, black raspberries, dark cherries and strawberries on the edges of the glass. Caramel, beautiful baking spices; cinnamon, clove, vanilla & nutmeg. Mocha, dark cherry cola, soft wood notes, whiff of black pepper, chewy leather, loamy dry soil, dry stones, dry crushed rocks with powder, softer rocky minerals than the previous wines and candied; red & blue florals with dark lavender & violets. The acidity is bright and fresh. The length, texture, structure and balance are in an excellent spot. Time the bottle accounts for a lot. The finish is, long, ruby, ripe, elegant, well balanced lasts for minutes.

Featured in the film “Sideways,” blend of Santa Maria Valley, Santa Ynez Valley, Santa Rita Hills and Los Alamos vineyards, Ruby with aromas of red fruits and spice, aged French and Hungarian oak (45% new). On the palate flavors of juicy cherry and currants with tea and smoky spice, great balance and structure. Fine soft tannins, long savory finish ending with fruit and spice character. Very nice! — 4 years ago
Bell’s Los Alamos is the best French restaurant in Southern California, and the wine list never disappoints. — 5 years ago
Diatom’s 2009 Chardonnay Bar-M, from vineyards in Los Alamos, is a gorgeous wine and a fabulous value. Tangerine oil, white flowers and light tropical accents give this curvy, airy Santa Barbara Chardonnay so much appeal. Breezy saline notes linger on the wonderfully inviting finish. $25.00 (Antonio Galloni, Vinous, October 2020) — 5 years ago

Scheurebe Pinot Blanc Blend. Young needs a little bit more age. A great wine to pair with all kinds of food sans steak. Green apple, tart, almond blossoms. Super nice. At Bell‘s in Los Alamos the new and only Michelin ⭐️ place in Santa Barbara County. Very well worth visiting!!! — 4 years ago
