Founded in 1982 Robert Talbott Sr., his wife Audrey, and their son Robb, with the planting of the 24-acre Diamond T Estate Vineyard and the construction of the first winery in Carmel Valley. Aromas of crisp fruit with scents of oak and floral. On the palate apple and pear flavors with sweet citrus notes and tangy acidity. Lingering finish ending with a creamy texture — 8 years ago
Bright sharp cherry with a bit of earth. Nicely lean, not jammy. Hides its 14.8% abv. Could stand with a good Sonoma Coast or richer Willamette Valley. I'd say yes. — 9 years ago
Opened this to impress some friends during a Pinot tasting. Upon opening we all agreed there was too much vanilla attributed to the oak. Wine opens up nicely after a while, but all-in-all preferred the 2011.
Edit: After 6 months or so in the bottle the oak aromas have dissipated and the wine is drinking fantastically. Sad to hear Gary Farrell has retired as the winemaker, but excited to see what they produce in the future. — 11 years ago

Very good shiraz, strong, fruity, chocolate . Expansive but great, although other years have been better... — 13 years ago
Nice chardonnay here. Definitely a young wine though. This wine has a nose of lemon/lime and herb. The palate is bright and crisp acidity. Lemon and kiwi. Mango in the middle. Still quite acidic. Finishes with citrus bite and an herbal quality. Really want to put this one in a 3 year time machine to see what happens. — 8 years ago
Pommard clone. Moderately dark reddish-purple color and clear in the glass. Notes of black cherry cola, mocha, star anise and spice. And a hint of green. Possible stem inclusion? Well balanced with both finesse and power. Very good. — 9 years ago

Great sparkling rose. Light color - good fruit and a great value for a special occasion. Good producer overall. — 12 years ago
Least favorite our of the 3 but still good. Just a little lighter and not as complex as the other 2 — 13 years ago
Cherry berry aroma fruit, smooth, wonderful on the palate. — 8 years ago
Bought this when we got engaged in Nappa. Kept it for 10 years. Amazing to drink on our 10 year anniversary. Awesome wine. — 8 years ago
Bright and lightly fruity. Very smooth. — 8 years ago
Probably one of the better Chards from Gary Farrell. Buttah factor = 6.5. This wine has lots of honeysuckle on the nose. Getting some butter, but not as much as the palate would indicate. This wine is big on the front. Glycerine and butter initially but goes to honey and melon and a little mango. There was a semi tart to the back. Wine finishes a bit short and much more crisp than the front. Overall a very enjoyable chard. — 9 years ago

1995 and this couldn’t be more lively, bright and balanced. Clarity, with bright red cherry. Slight drop in the finish. Still, it’s a 25 year Pinot. Wow. — 6 years ago
