This wine screams “cherries!” ....red and black cherry with notes of cola and hints of allspice. Opens beautifully and still has tannic backbone. Structure and good mouth feel. A beautiful Pinot. — 7 years ago

Ruby color, purple edges, with pronounced aromas of red fruits, floral, herbs and complex spice. On the palate concentrated flavors of raspberry, ripe plum and black cherry with orange rind, tea, herbs, cacao and oak, soft tannins on well balanced structure. One of the best Syrahs I’ve had. Complex nose of bittersweet chocolate, raspberries, cherries, smoke. The wine was very focused and fresh for 14 years old. Blackberry, black pepper, graphite, with a hit of menthol on the finish. Sadly, the last bottle of 2006 they had. Would def buy this again. #dumol #theunionhotel — 6 years ago

Paul Hobbs is one of the greatest producers of California pinot noir. Opulent, floral and fruits forward in youth. This is my 2nd bottle of 2012 since 2015. The fruits have somewhat settled down. I remember my first experience with this floral, beautiful wine as clearly as if it had happened just yesterday.

A pale lemon yellow in colour - quite youthful looking for a 12 year old Chardonnay. Aromatics of white peach - mealy and nutty notes, still with a nice acid cut at the finish. Drinking at its peak. Fuller than some Marg River Chardonnays I’ve had lately like Xanadu and Fraser Gallop. I have had richer Art Series Chardonnays but personally I love the balance in this. Tasted in May 2025 the first bottle. Had my 2nd last bottle on 20th September 2025 and it was utterly delicious. Stone fruit and dried pear character to the fore. I will have my last bottle in the coming summer or early 2026 and will make a fresh Delectable note. — 5 months ago
Pale lemon color with aromas of ripe fruits, citrus, vanilla and nutty scents. On the palate complex flavors of apple, peach, pineapple and lemon citrus, well balanced with acidity on a nice mouthfeel. Long finish ending with oak, vanilla, mineral and citrus notes, will continue to age. A beautiful Chardonnay. — 6 months ago
