2012 tasted in 12/2018. Deep garnet, medium to full bodied. Wonderful perfume of black cherries, floral notes, and wet stone. Opens up substantially in the glass. Decanting will coax out an enchanting bouquet. Palate characterized by not overly ripe red to black fruit character with great acid structure, tannins still young at this time. A well crafted wine such as this can handle some time in the cellar. An ABV of 14.5% would suggest a bolder, riper red but the depth, complexity, and balance of this wine is unrivaled among East Coast reds with the notable exception of similar blends from Linden. Very lovely with an old world style. — 7 years ago

Colleague's farewell party wine 1.
Sonorous, charming, refreshing Roussanne originated from Anapa, Black Sea foothills.
Dense lemony yellow, greenish tint.
Delicate bouquet is woven of lemon, flowers (linden, osmanthus), tarragon, delicate mineral and spicy hint, pear, white peach, nectarine.
Elegant palate of light-plus body, refreshing acidity. Scented by pineapple, pomelo, white currant, chalk, nectarine.
Very fresh lingering finish of citrus, ginger and ripe white currant.
Gone as apetitif. — 9 years ago
An influence in style to old school Bordeaux for sure, elegance and power in a very persistent medium+ body. The nose is very true to the Cabernet varietals, cassis, cherry, currants with a tweak of pepper and spice. Long and pure.on the finish, very well made. Tasted side by side with the 2006 and on two other occasions. — 9 years ago
Drinking at the exquisite Linden Gardens wine bar (2010 vintage) — 10 years ago

“... aromas of ripe forelle pears, white peaches, and buckwheat honey along with fleeting suggestions of linden flowers, lavender, and freshly sliced poblano peppers as the nose evolves in the glass.
“On the palate, the wine is a rounder and fuller counterpoint to racy Sancerre, with briny, sea salt-seasoned flavors of fresh pineapple, Meyer lemon, and ruby grapefruit interwoven with firmly hewn salty silex minerality.” — Moore Brothers Wine Co., Brooklyn — 5 years ago
Enjoyed with ribeye mashed potatoes. C medium + with slight burnt tone; N ripe berries, pungent; T ripe berries with strong red raspberry and blackberry, nice acidity, firm mouth feel. — 8 years ago

On the sweet side for a kabinett. Lemon curd, white flower, linden tree. — 9 years ago
2016 vintage. 30 Grenache Blanc 30 Clairette 30 Roussane 10 Bourboulenc. Blanched almond, beeswax, linden leaf, lemon pith, white grapefruit peel, lots of minerals. Acid definitely overrides any waxiness in texture. Good typicity. — 6 years ago
Excellent, very smooth.

Clear pale straw, apple and pear aromas, hint of linden flower, crisp acidity with mineral notes. Excellent Loire Sauvignon Blanc 😊 — 8 years ago
This non-vineyard designate Chard was Jim’s oppty to make a slightly more VA-styled Chard. Since the Hardscrabble is rather Burgundian, this has a nice citrus & apple sweetness with matching acidity. Wonderful texture and mouthfeel - even after 3 full years in my cellar. 5 years from harvest! Very articulate! — 8 years ago
Ripe, oily and mineral and dry to the bone, and so well balanced. Sweet acacia/linden nose, baked apples and melon in palate. Great value, not boring round with nutty finish — 9 years ago
The wine world is changing. Great job from this Virginia winery. Swear it would come from central coast or even napa and Sonoma. Full bodied mouth filling richness. Little oaky but still nicely balanced. Got this little gem from some very god friend on the east coast. Thanks again for enlightening this California palate. — 9 years ago
Tension, purity, verve and filigree come to mind here and can only take the mind to one place for Chardonnay: Chablis. OK so now the mind is set in Chablis with style but then we take a different take on the finish that was crazy long and pure, dry extract on full display here as this hummed along nicely to the finish. Another amazing Chardonnay from Jim Law at Linden. — 9 years ago

So hard to believe that this was built on two year leaf grapes. Talk about a great rookie season! Mostly cab sauv , this did indeed punch far beyond it’s expected weight class. Complex yet fairly linear and sequential, this has the dna of the championship level big boy (glen manor/rdv/linden). While only a 375 mL bottle, it had aged remarkably well and would be worth another library investment if available ;) — 5 years ago
