Lime Leaf

Domaine François Raveneau

Butteaux Chablis 1er Cru Chardonnay 2010

Very bright and fresh on the nose. Hints of lime, chalk and honey. Very clear on the palate and pretty. A touch simple and not huge length but delicious. — 9 years ago

Hard not to like raveneau especially in a top vintage. This lacked a bit of the follow through I come to expect from this producer. Pleasant but surly not a wine Raveneau has built its reputation

Comments on here about being 'classic' and green-pepper led. It certainly isn't classic, is very far removed from being herbaceous. It's an elegant and gentle SB, very pale lemon green. Looking for classic Marlborough notes. Mineral, clean, fresh, citrus, lemon, lime, hint of Passionfruit. White flower, elderflower. Very light in style, elegant, very light green notes (like Salad leaf and green pea) lemony, Limey, gentle and very drinkable. From a blend of sites, mainly clay soils. — 10 years ago

Very smooth initial flavor. Light bodied plummy that fills the nose with red berries after swallowing. More intense after it breathes. — 12 years ago

First, a person has to pause and realize how lucky they are to drink this wine from 3L. Thanks Clyde for opening. This is in a perfect stage. Such evolution, length, balance, structure. Love the lower 80's alcohol levels. It's rich, lush and near perfect. Dark cassis; ripe and resolved blackberries, dark cherries, black plum w/skin, mixed berry liqueur, tobacco leaf, leather so soft you would wish it as a pillow cover, dry pebbles, dark rich earth, perfect acidity and a rich, elegant, ripe dark fruit finish. In 3L, this wine still has 10-15 years. — 9 years ago

Starting to gain a little color and flavor development, but still comes across as younger than its 7 years. Lime and a little waxy/petrol thing, along with barely ripe tropical fruit. Easy to empty a glass. — 9 years ago

Citrus particularly melon and peach. Crisp finish with lime overtones. For those who want to move a bit beyond typical dry and crisp whites, try this wine. — 10 years ago

Chateau Ste. Michelle & Dr. Loosen

Eroica Columbia Valley Riesling 2013

Right on the money with this Riesling! Straw in color and star bright. Nose was filled with lemon-lime, honeydew, Granny Smith apples, wild honey, citrus blossom, ginger, and new plastic pool toy aromas. The palate was extremely well balanced and the acidity was high and puckering. The tart lemon and lime flavors held through the finish. The finish was surprisingly long, and it was a nice medium-minus body. This Riesling provides a solid compliment to spicy sushi and spicy foods. It holds up strong and has a lot of backbone. All in all, this is your Riesling if you are looking for a refreshing, acidic, dry breath of fresh air. Instant favorite of mine! Washington dry Rieslings are spectacular. Cheers! — 9 years ago
