Oh hell now that I’m Court certified I’m SO happy to drink things I won’t be tested on! Southern Rhône/almost southern coast rosé all day every day! This almost has the nuance of the Tavel I so love. Most Syrah then the 40 % Grenache kicks in with red fruit for days. Not quite so balanced (alcohol high-ish and acid not quite so integrated but this is under ten bucks!) as I may wish but dang tasty. Let’s do this beat by beat.
Eye: damn that’s almost fuschia with added salmon nose: ripe strawberries and stones Tongue; blueberries those dang Syrah indicators rear their delicious head. Along with strawberries and underbrush and a wet stone or two. This is a wine to grab by the hand and take on a weekend picnic. May not be a soul mate but you won’t regret minute together. — 7 years ago
To be honest, if this was placed in a blind-tasting, I can see it being mistaken for a Burgundy. The nose is a savory herb garden intermingling with crushed violets, peppered with spice and cedar. Soft and lithe on the entry with a focused arrow of acidity on the backend, Hyland glides onto the palate with fresh cranberries, orange peel, and pomegranates and finishes in fresh mushrooms and peppercorn. The tannins unfold from powdery into a sexy swash. Pretty and cellar-worthy. — 8 years ago

Sunflower seeds, some oil, smoke and olives on the nose. Very smooth, calm tannins, medium acidity, very earthy, raisins, blackberry, black curants. Shorter finish. Great, light and wonderful. — 11 years ago
Out of theme bottle. More depth, concentration, and complexity versus the rest. Most people guessed Vosne from its sensuality (wildness?) and dark fruits. Quite airy which led me to guess Le Petit Monts. I guess the dark/black fruits hinted more towards Les Beaux Monts. Found the 2014 to be more reductive and regal. — 7 years ago

Has a good amount of raspberry coulis like fruit strawberry jam like fruit brown spice a not hot at the end with some truffle like notes on the finish and a good hand of spice. Excellent — 11 years ago
This wine is compelling. Just when I'm ready to write it off as 'vintage' it tightens up & 'producer' takes the lead role. — 12 years ago
A bit over the edge...won’t say pass by the hours of glory are behind. Still good acidity but short mouth fell. — 7 years ago
