Les Cloux Rully 1er Cru Chardonnay

Lovely pale straw colour. Fresh, citrus nose. Pineapple, a touch of oak and vanilla on the plate, with a long buttery acidy finish. An excellent wine, typical modern and impeccably-executed — at NOA, Tallinn — 5 years ago

@Alan Weinberg My first time with O. Leflaive and I am not likely to become a fan. I cannot comment on the Domaine because my sample size is very limited.

"Produit de France" is wine from mostly purchased grapes, i.e. see Montrachet bottling. Note that all Maison bottlings state "vinified, produced, and bottled" on back label clarifying that must, or finished wine, is not used. "Recolte du Domaine" is wine from 100% Domaine grapes.

Recolte Du Domaine bottlings are:

Bourgogne Aligote: taken back from Domaine Leflaive after 2009 vintage

Puligny Montrachet Folatieres: taken back from Domaine Leflaive after 2009 vintage
-A Maison bottling is also produced

Puligny Pucelles: taken back from Domaine Leflaive after 2009 vintage
-A Maison bottling is also produced

Meursault Blagny Sous le Dos d'Ane: taken back from Domaine Leflaive after 2009 vintage

Chassagne Clos Saint Marc(Clos in Les Vergers)

Chassagne Abbaye de Morgeot

Batard-Montrachet: taken back from Domaine Leflaive after 2009 vintage
-A Maison bottling is also produced

Chevalier-Montrachet: taken back from Domaine Leflaive after 2009 vintage

Olivier and Patrick Leflaive own 17 hectare, which is fairly large Domaine ownership, although all plots owned may not be large enough to bottle on their own. Meursault Poruzots is an example where they have ownership and also buy grapes, so that wine is bottled as Produit de France and not Recolte du Domaine.

Franck Grux has been winemaker since 1988; Jean Marc Boillot was winemaker from '84-'88. Grux is first cousins with Jean Marc Roulot. Grux was winemaker at Guy Roulot immediately following Ted Lemon from Littorai and preceding Jean Marc Roulot returning to family Domaine. You can find Franck Grux's own wines(he owns vines in Meursault) at the Burgundy Wine Company in NYC and Burghound does review Grux wines.
