Raspberry preserves, currant, prune, cassis, stewed fruit and oak. Full-bodied and soft tannins. — 5 years ago
Well what can I say. Probably the best Riesling made in the US today. And sadly gone - vines ripped out. 24 cases made in 2015 and pretty much gone at the vinery. Dark yellow already some petrol. 13.3%. The wine holds up for days. Notes are from a wine 24h+++. Mandarin. Peach pits, bitter almonds, gooseberries, very deep and pronounced apricot flavor. This is really special but give it time hours or days to open up!🌈🌈🌈. California history in a bottle. Graham put his heart and soul into this wine. — 7 years ago

Best LaFond I've tasted. A bigger flavor profile for our American taste, but French subtly. — 8 years ago
citrus and passion fruit, concentrated with stimulated acidity, it would be great with oyster, long lingering time — 5 years ago
Cherry, raspberry preserves, currant, oak, vanilla and hints of prune. Medium-bodied and soft tannins. — 5 years ago
Cherry, watermelon, strawberry, blood orange, vanilla and slate. Great acidity and balance. — 6 years ago
Although not labeled as such, tastes like a spatlese Riesling with residual sugar. Sweet and flavorful with a slightly acidic finish. One of my favorite Rieslings, especially from an area that produces much drier Rieslings. — 8 years ago
Oaky and buttery. Very tasty. — 8 years ago
Another blockbuster Tavel from Morderée. The 2018 is as delicious as it gets and this is tasting better in 2020 than it did on arrival last year. I’d always attributed the unique zesty and pungent flavors in this wine with the tiny amounts of uniquely Tavel blending grapes... perhaps that remains true, but this wine is mostly Grenache 60%, with Cinsault/Syrah/Mourvèdre at 10% each, and Clairette/Bourboulenc at 5% each. Whatever the blend, they’ve nailed this one. Sadly, it’s quite pricey at over $30. Now if I could locate some LaFond in my area, we could crown a Tavel champion, but this one will be hard to beat. — 5 years ago

Lafond Chateauneuf du Pape Roc-Epine is a deep red fruited, elegant wine. Predominantly Grenache (80%), Syrah (10%), Mourvèdre (10%).
The Syrah gives a very nice spicy twist. Overall dense, dark plum and spice. Very enjoyable! — 4 years ago
