I had a bottle of this wine a while ago and it was spectacular: 94pts. The second, which I drank a few weeks ago, was very good, but not as good as the first one, but still pretty decent: 90 pts. On average 92. A fine claret by the owners of Cheval Blanc. — 8 years ago

Maybe I just don't know enough about old Bordeaux yet. If anyone wants to take me on a tour of old first growths I'm game. — 11 years ago
Very complex yet still very drinkable. Absolutely love. — 11 years ago
The 2015 Canon has a tightly wound bouquet with mineral rich black fruit, raspberry coulis, rose
petal and desiccated orange peel. It takes time to come together, but it does. The palate is well defined, very focused with fine minerality. This is discreet but beautifully balanced, clean and precise with a sense of energy and precision on the finish. It is less showy than its peers at the moment, which
explains why I am more parsimonious with my score. Yet the potential is locked inside this wine and it will aspire toward perfection with a decade in bottle.Tasted blind at the Southwold 2015 Bordeaux tasting. (Neal Martin, Vinous, July 2019) — 6 years ago

Bracing acidity melon and green apple on the palate. Drinking the 2012 vintage. Great buy for 23$ pair with a rich cream sauce or save as an aperitif — 11 years ago

The 2010 Léoville-Poyferré has a very intense bouquet with blackberry, briary cedar and light estuarine/seaweed aromas that are very well defined. Pure class. The palate is medium-bodied with fine-grain tannins, layers of pure black fruit laced with pencil lead and a pinch of white pepper. It fans out wonderfully towards the finish, a Saint-Julien demonstrating wonderful density and precision. What an outstanding wine, perhaps less flamboyant than other vintages, one that will last decades. Tasted blind at Farr Vintners 10-Year On Bordeaux horizontal. (Neal Martin, Vinous, April 2020)

Mmm. Currants, raisons, dates, leather, and some bretty barnyard funk. Nice.
Lots of currants and dried dark fruit up front, but balanced with fairly bright acidity and leathery, earthy tannins. Spice notes also linger.
Delicious albeit rustic wine, especially with food. Tannin quality suggests that this still has a good bit of time ahead of it. — 6 years ago
150m / red clay, wow aromatics, raspberry. Pepper. — 7 years ago
Lovely Provençal rose just right here in the Caribbean — 9 years ago
Classic Rhone notes of violets, black fruits, and leather. Guessing mostly syrah with grenache, awesome qpr. — 9 years ago
Full of rich juicy cherries and currants with hint of vanilla. Very modern in style with soft tannin. Super approachable Bordeaux wine. — 9 years ago
