Sexy fucking wine. Sexy is overused but I’d get in a hastily planned 3 month relationship with this wine that would end in bitter heartbreak. Gorgeous nose. Flowers, big cherries, lipstick vibe. Palate is ripe and opulent with lovely sucrosity and wonderful freshness. Silky tannins and great mouthfeel. Very 15 but also very alluring. Long finish. Wonderful mineral drive and very complex. Great today. — 6 years ago
I was floored by the aromas coming from the glass, plums , tea, smoke , something green.. I wanted to stop there because I feared the palate could not come close to the nose. Boy was I wrong. Tannins obviously resolved but the acid was an eye-opener. Mushrooms , dark fruits, orange zest and figs . A lovely finish that was silk like. — 7 years ago
Amazing. Complex entry, medium to soft middle and the most amazing lemon, citrus and curd end. Almost like a delightful lemon chiffone or key lime. — 9 years ago
WOTN, was a bit warm, but after 5 mins in the ice bucket, exploded in complexity and sweet fruit. This is close to perfection, and will get even better for decades! — 10 years ago
Even though we brought spilts with us on our trip, I still missed it. There just aren’t many better starters to kickoff a weekend night. Cheers! 🥂
Many previous notes still apply.
The next time you have BSR as an aperitif and your are having red wine after, save some to close out your night. The BSR ascends from 1080p HD to OLED 4K on your palate. For that matter, any quality Champagne will do. — 6 years ago

Almonds and lemons. Delicious! — 8 years ago
#KWN Wine 7. Obvious Bordeaux from the bouquet. Full of life and energy. Full-bodied and unctuous, bursting with blackberry, mineral, barnyard, Haro's gym socks, mushroom and leather flavors. So smooth. Like drinking liquid silk. Damn close to perfection. After much reflection, not just the #WOTN but the best wine I have ever tasted. Moff you have earned the right to attend another #KWN. — 9 years ago
Sweet blackberry currants, strawberry licorice, black plum, black tea, black earth, dried roses, dry black earth, gravel, underbrush, crushed dry rock powder, dark dry sweet mineral finish. I will open my first bottle in 2020. It's getting close but not quite there yet. Tasted from the Chateau. — 9 years ago

Nose is black cherry, plum, thyme, lavender, black pepper, and a touch of smoke. Pretty complex and inviting.
Palate opens with those black cherry/kirsch notes and then transitions to dried green herbs and medium acidity. Tannins are smooth and lend just enough dryness to keep it balanced. Good length with lingering plum skin.
Great little Rhone red with delicious approachable fruit and some nice spice subtlety. Where others at this price point (€11!) are austere or overly simple, this one delivers on deliciousness and complexity. The overall structure makes it quite drinkable too. — 6 years ago
Amazing stuff. Awesome balance, biscuit, light fruits, tight bubbles, and sits perfectly on the tongue. — 7 years ago
Final night of the cruise.....night ten coming to a close so we decided to go with another Special Selection.
Deep and dark purplish ruby red, completely coats the glass. Plump and rich aromas on the nose with blueberries, vanilla, cinnamon, blackberries and even some purple flowers. Rounded and integrated heavy tannins (7/10) and medium plus to full bodied. Love the blue and black fruits on the palate of this wine. Long and lingering finish. Drink till 2032. — 8 years ago
CVed 12/29/16. As I remember it from years ago. Funky earthy notes and darker cherry notes that carry through to palate and long finish. Different wine from other three. Opened 1/21/17 at MRs dinner. Tasting the same. Crowd favorite. — 9 years ago

2004 shared with great friends. Close to perfect, biscuity with green apples and walnuts. — 9 years ago
Fuller and grippier than I thought it would be. Very well balanced, nice earth and a little funk. Just liked the label ;) — 10 years ago
Delicious! Nose reminds of white burg but there is a slight tropical tenderness and almost saline element that distinguishes. Definitely a baby but loving it — 11 years ago
Golden apples and nuts. Lengthy finish. Almondy flor flavors highly present. vibrant with mashed autumn fruits and oak. — 11 years ago

Such an interesting wine. So unexpected terroir mineral balance with pineapple pear fruit. Top notch! Tasted great with Santa Barbara uni, ikura, Toro and negi-hamachi! — 5 years ago
