Chapelle de Meyney ("the Chapel of Meyney"), second wine of Chateau Meyney, one of the oldest estates in the Medoc. Deep Ruby red color, purple hues, with aromas of black fruits, herb, tobacco and earthy notes. On the palate flavors of plums and black currants with cacao and tobacco spice, on a well balanced frame. Fine tight tannins, long finish ending with fruit, earthy spice and cedar character. Starting to drink well now. — 10 months ago
Rebuy - This is sweet but has an earthy fruity flavor that we loved. — 4 years ago
Smoky Syrah with fine tannins and restrained fruit. Very refined but very young. Long finish. — 7 years ago
One of the 3 second wines of 5th growth Haut Bages Liberal. Even better than the last time - typical Pauillac barnyard notes. 92 — 8 years ago
Enticing bottle of mature white burgundy — 9 years ago
Ripe berries, blue- and strawberries with tannins to supply a lattice for the seductive flavours. Elegant acidity. — 9 years ago

Vin assez gras nez flatteur — 11 years ago
For our reception, I packed a magnum of this in 2007 into my suitcase.. Same as it was that night, it is tonight. Every 750ml I/we have had since then has better than the magnum I brought. The magnum was good, but a touch broken down. This is in amazing shape. Storage is everything w/ wine of this age.
The nose was straight up brighter, aged fruit profile with mushrooms, sweetened led pencil & barnyard. Beautiful. Classic 80’s seminole Bordeaux. 48 years from inception & 46 years in bottle, amazing.
Happy anniversary Sofia! ❤️ you endlessly!
This is a perfect example of why I love Bordeaux. — 9 months ago
Shorter finish than I was expecting.
Cranberry notes, with some spice.
Really good. — 4 years ago
A nice Beaujolais from a vintage that I don’t usually love compared to 2014/2016. Definitely better with an hour or so in a decanter to let the tannins integrate a bit more. Dark purple in the glass - darker than expected. Nice cherry aromas. Still could resolve a bit more on the finish but with a slight chill is nice. — 6 years ago
Smokey leather and raspberry, velvety smooth on the palate. A hint of oak in the nose. — 6 years ago
Wonderful nose, superb balance, refined and soft finish. Real nice. — 8 years ago
18-. 1999. Still youthful, lovely Pinot nose, great mouthfeel and depth, balanced, long. But the previous bottle of the same wine, last night , was corked. And so it goes... — 8 years ago
Good wine good value at less than 4 Euro. — 9 years ago
This is a silkier, more elegant vintage of the Chapelle, at least relative to the 2010, which was really in my zone, as well as the 2009, which I found over-the-top, but in both cases I think there was more stuffing there than here. This would've shown better if I'd opened it with white meat or even fish or something else where a lightweight presence and loose-knit structure is called for. It's an excellent wine in that idiom but lacks some of the solidity and grip it has offered in other years. It's not imbalanced at all, and the trademark stony mineral flavors are still here, it's just a slimmer version of its usual self. — 10 years ago
A delicious wine that should show even more in the next few years. With notes of kirsch and black currant, this soft, but complex wine is delicious. It has slight herbaceous undertones that round out the fruit forwardness. Probably one of the better Chat. Du Papes from this vintage. — 10 years ago
Dark rubi robe, nose of dark cherries, plum, top soil and asian spices. Dense and mineral in the mouth, medium bodied, very reserved and only showing its game after a couple of hours. This is a very classy grand cru that is accessible now after decanting but has lots of potential. Top stuff. — 9 months ago
Dark cherries. A little organic bark. Black pepper and cassis. Subtle minerals. — 10 months ago
