The taste of this wine reminds me of how mother would force me to introduce myself to perfectly strange kids and make me play with them. Looking back on it now I thank her for the memories, as some became life long friends I still hold dear to this day. I just wish she would have also enforced this effort in socialization during my own childhood.
Approaching this wine was at first awkward and off-putting, whether the label or the AVA, or maybe the person I encountered the wine through...but I was immediately intrigued and it did indeed make for some mighty fine sipping after all. — 8 years ago
Pure and clean with an element of spiced fruit. Heck of a mousse for a pet nat (?!). Was expecting to see a wine of a reddish color, though this has more of a pale golden hue. Either Trousseau removed from it's skins or Trousseau Gris (assuming the former). All my nitpicking aside, it was really delicious. A wine that hipsters and traditionalists can agree upon! — 10 years ago

Dusty Nabor Wines Ballard Canyon Syrah 2017, California
Dark ruby in color with a wide reddish rim.
Fruity nose of blueberries, blackberries, black currants, black plums, oak, licorice, vanilla, cola, dark chocolates, tobacco, black pepper, earth and Indian spices.
Full-bodied and bold with medium acidity and long legs.
Dry on the palate and fruity with blackberries, black currants, oak, light vegetables, vanilla, coffee, spices, peppercorn, leather and tobacco.
Long finish with soft tannins and tangy raspberries.
This is a very enjoyable Syrah from California. Showing nice complexity with a nice mouthfeel.
Good right out of the bottle, but better after 90 minutes of airtime. As it opens up, lots of coffee and chocolate notes come in, which is very nice to see.
Wine Enthusiasts 90 points.
Already drinking well, but will be better in the next 3 to 5 years.
Nicely balanced, interesting and engaging. I especially enjoyed the nose here.
I paired it with cheeses and crackers.
A blend of 93% Syrah and 7% Viognier. Aged for 16 months in 50% new French oak barrels. Unfiltered and unfined.
15% alcohol by volume.
90 points.

Great scent of vanilla and tobacco. Young wine that should age nicely. Scent of pepper, vanilla, and tobacco. Dry chalky beginning with a nice floral and spicy breath. Finish is long and strong. Can’t wait to see what this wine becomes after cellaring. — 8 years ago
It's like sticking your face into a basket of juicy, summer-ripe black cherries, plums and roses. The nose is less aromatic, and almost calm and sensual, leading you into a false sense of complacency only to experience an explosion of juicy, dark, sexy fruit. Perfect for a summer date night. — 8 years ago
Love this. Buy more next time you're there. Very port-y — 9 years ago
This is still a baby. David, I can't wait to see this with some serious age on it. — 10 years ago
Found this sultry seductress on a hike through the Cowiche Canyon outside of Yakima. Very glad to bring this wine back as a token from my spring trip to the Edenic high desert. Kelsey says 'Smells like a beach ball in all the right ways.' To me, that translates to the kind of honeyed vinyl aromas that makes this one of my favorite varietals. Not as spicy as other examples I've tried, but no less complex. Really ripe melon (almost Jolly Rancher-esque) and a shot of something warm and earthy, like thyme, are things I'm tasting. — 10 years ago

Super easy to drink, with gentle fruit forward flavors, sweet and tangy — 6 years ago
Still very primary. Good balance of sweet black and blue fruits with black olive, oregano, and smoked meat notes. Has a little whiff of barnyard funk. Full body, subtle but well-integrated tannins, and vibrant acidity. Will need to find more bottles to see how this evolves over time. — 7 years ago
Red blend bought at winery after tasting. Blackberry pie with a pepper finish. Dry but with an interesting sweetness that came from the aroma not the sugars. Liked this one a lot. Paired with red wine pot roast. — 8 years ago
It's California Wine Month!! Stop by Terry's to see some of our favorite producers like this extended skin contact, funky yet cool Sauvignon Blanc made by Sashi Moorman. — 10 years ago
Birthday dinner wine. Second time I've had it and what a difference some time and air makes. Cranberry and raspberry on the palate. Herbaceous and a little bitter mid palate with a very silky finish. Can see where others got the charred meat flavor. Great value! Can't wait to try in a few years. — 10 years ago
