1984 where were we All? This cab fooled us all. On opening it had a very closed no flavor nose. Within 45 minutes it emerged with flavors of plum, a touch of woodiness and a hint of cassis. At 33 years of age, it was surprisingly good. I guess wines were made to age that long ago. Bravo to Henry who brought it and Mr Kamen who originally bought this. Also Buehler Family well done. Intense citrus aromas with notes of pear, apricot and wet stone. Big, rich and dry on the palate. Flavors of lemon and lemon zest and citrus oil leads to deep, stone minerality, grassiness and full, deep acidity with just a hint of oak. The finish is incredibly dry and zesty with intense length and depth. — 10 years ago
2013 vintage
— 10 years ago

Blackberry nose with smooth light fruity finish — 11 years ago
Another beautiful wine from a stellar vintage Eric Baugher is on top of his game. Cola, blue fruit, seem less and long on the finish. Will reevaluate day 2. Favorite cab next to Morgan's (bedrock) Kamen vineyard. — 11 years ago
Big jasmine. Big plummy fruit. Complex, rounded, elegant and yeah...big. — 11 years ago

Big fruity beast. Needs time in a decanter but this wine is going to be good for a long time. — 11 years ago
Awesome, Bob Kamen and Phil Coturri brought this in and shared, why cant we make wines like this here? Mushroom and forest floor on the nose, subtle nuances of fruit and earth on the palate, gorgeous... — 11 years ago
Violet meniscus. Hedonistic blackberry, blueberry and truffle nose. Entry is full throttle blackberry pie, blueberry and vanilla. Youthful. Crushed rock limestone type of middle on a dense blackberry core. Tannic, yes, but sweeter side...almost a cinnamon graham cracker finish that is full and long. Not too sure where this vineyard is located compared to Kamen but this could be an identical twin...at a 45 dollar price tag! Emailing to see how much more of this is available, if any! — 8 years ago

My good friend Will Burkholder (Fine Wine Vault) gave me these 2 Kamen's to taste side by side. Will introduced me to Kamen about a year ago. Why I did not know about Kamen before is beyond me. Okay, these are two very different wines. Both excellent! The nose on the Kashmir is to die for. It is silky smooth--ready to drink now and for years! The Lava is bolder and more layered. It may be a couple of years early to crack open the Lava. I love both! — 9 years ago
Organic grapes from Sonoma. Excellent. — 10 years ago
Man, this cab had my taste buds singing hallelujah! Like rich, melted dark chocolate and raspberries, cedar box on the nose, dry tobacco leaf, cinnamon, dried fig, and a HUGE body, with a well integrated tannin and a gripping finish. Mark Herold, you're a monster of a wine maker! Of course a bit different from Kamen or Heston, but it's clearly his bigger than life style. This should age very nicely and is still aproachable now. Advocate gave it a 93 and so will I! — 10 years ago

This is body medium PLUS if you know what I mean. Stumbled upon this gem tasting cabs in Sonoma last June. Was very fortuitous to find the tasting room just off the town square. Just a fabulous bottle, dry yet exploding with a fruit forward personality. More balance here than a Chinese gymnast. — 8 years ago
