The brick red '89 Château Cantemerle Red Bordeaux Blend Haut-Médoc has everything an older Bordeaux can offer. A complex bouquet of spicy cedar, plummy black fruits, tobacco, au jus, truffle and leather scents. Oh my! Delicious, rich and mature. Silky smooth tannins lead to a rewarding earthy finish. I'll open my last bottle of this classic on our 25th anniversary this coming November. A perfect wine for the occasion. — 11 years ago

Beautiful, dried violets, still some fresh fruit perfume, salt cured olive, roast beef jus, tons of white pepper. — 9 years ago
Dusty cherries, plum, smoke and cellar notes evolve to aromas of balsamic, tobacco and anise. Touches of rose pedal and tar as well. Tart cherry pie fruit with plum, strawberry and cranberry on the palate. Chalk and rusty nail add depth. Finishes with elegance and shining acidity. Tannins are not undersold, however. In a beautiful place now, but no rush. Really enjoyed the evolution in the glass. Pair with cedar smoked salmon or truffle pasta. — 6 years ago
.a little better than the last bottle...nose open on red fruits and white spices. In the mouth acidity is medium high, with a good amount of red fruits with good concentration on the attack but falls off a little too fast. Overall a well made inexpensive red burgundy....gave 1 pt extra for its price. — 6 years ago
Elegant and extremely perfumed, a nice juicy red fruit core featuring ripe cherries, raspberries, and strawberries, followed by dried lavender, meaty beef jus, orange peel, undergrowth, sweet tobacco, charcoal, and intense black pepper. Delicious sweet red fruit flavors on entry with some dried apricots that lead to a umami rich midpalate filled with meaty notes, iron, and a slightly saline minerality that intermingles with intense peppery notes that linger for some time. Incredible silky mouth feel on this midbodied red, very light in structure but intense in flavors. — 7 years ago

Imagine a blueberry blintz, and then smell this wine...the nose will trick you into eating dessert! But, the taste and finish are far from sweet. This is a perfectly ripe, delicately balanced Pinot with a gorgeous long lasting finish. — 5 years ago
