Blend of 58% Cabernet Sauvignon, 33% Merlot, 5% Petit Verdot and 4% Cabernet Franc, aged in new French oak, deep Ruby red color, with aromas of red fruits, spice and spice box herbs. On the palate flavors of blackberry, ripe plum, tobacco and cinnamon spice. Fine tannins, long finish, balanced acidity, ending with ripe fruit, spice and earthy mineral character. Wait a few years before Sipping!

Tremendous wine. Such an underdog at Cruchandeau. Glorious nose of florals, bright cherry fruit, some funk, now black cherry, raspberry and strawberry. Just terrific. Palate is opulent and incisive at the same time. Juicy with terrific acidity and engaging freshness that really extends the finish. Really well made and belies the level. Nice gold-straw color. Nose is a little obscure at cellar temp but light citrus and tropical fruit really shine as the wine warms a bit. Bright acidity on the tongue Great mouthfeel-- almost chardonnay like. A lot of Malo for an Alsace which makes the wine a little heavy. Would go great with any white fish. 2012, Clos Des Vignes Du Maynes, Cuvée 910, Macon-Cruzille, field blend of Gamay, Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. Very light with fresh red fruit balanced by spice and herbal undertones. This is one of my favorites, good as an apertif and pairs well with a variety of dishes. — 12 years ago
