@Ira Schwartz it’s my first bottle out of a six pack. There appears to be no hurry to get to the rest in any hurry. Though in a very good place right now. Not your usual Beaujolais

@Mark Rosse Thanks, had the ‘11 MaV about 3 years ago and my note was see you in 3-5 years . Sounds like these might require even more time . Made more like a burgundy than a bojo .

Brut Premier Cru Champagne Blend 2002

From Écueil (Montaigne de Reims). Pinotant, fine and pleasing, v. attractive for who loves Pinot Noir. Noble golden colour with tiny bubbles. On the nose starts with yeast, bread, then it gets typical P. Noir with earthy and even animal notes. Mature, powerful, w. good complexity; as the wine changes in the glass a clear, well focussed note of green apple takes center stage. Equally good mouth with fine minerality along with fruits and some anise. V. good finish, fresh, good length. — 12 years ago

Almost too rich for a hot night! This was a Champagne loaded with brioche and texture that went very well with the homemade crisps, but might have been too much for a 95 degree evening. — 9 years ago

Intense dry extract. Take a whiff and the wine shoots up your nostrils (in a good way). Better after 2hrs. Needs a 5-10yrs in bottle. Tons of stuffing but just too early. Disg 12/2016 — 7 years ago

Fleurie Gamay 2009

So much for the myth that Beaujolais doesn't hold up over time. This 2009 is vibrant with deep red fruit, soft tannins and we'l-balanced acidity. Forest floor and wild raspberry are in the mix. Long on the palate, a beautiful wine with another few years ahead though irresistible now — 8 years ago

Amontillado May 2013 2013

A great example of amontillado. On the nose Caramelized pears, white smoke, soy, brine, pretzel based autolytic notes, toast and touch of milk chocolate. The palate mimics the nose with pronounced notes of brine and sea salt. An oily texture and a long finish. — 11 years ago
