Inky, bright-rimmed ruby. Mineral-accented cherry, cassis and peony qualities on the highly perfumed nose, along with a building mineral nuance. Appealingly sweet and focused on the palate, offering juicy dark berry, floral pastille and spicecake flavors that slowly deepen through the midpalate. Zoom event with Drew Bledsoe and Josh McDaniels. Vertical from ‘07, ‘14, ‘15, ‘16, ‘17, ‘17 estate, and ‘18. All were exceptionally smooth and silky with good depth of fruit. Notes on the ‘18: 90% CS, 5% Malbec, 5% Merlot. Least favorite of the night. Still a good wine but perhaps a bit too young, or just different enough from the others that I liked ones with a bit more age. This wine had a little more density than the others and perhaps a little more earth and graphite coming through that masked the fruit. It still had the classic doubleback elegance of the others but I felt we were not seeing this wine’s true expression. It only had about 1 hour in the glass and perhaps I need to pull another bottle, decant for a few hours and see what it does. — 5 years ago

Very light and easy drinking. Had it with Thai dinner. Not very acidic, does not have a big earthiness that some roses have. This would be a good pick for people who are in the middle on their thoughts of rose — 7 years ago
If aliens landed and asked "What does earth wine taste like?", I would hand them a bottle of this. 👽🍷 Not because I think it's the best earth has to offer but because I think it's a good representation of what fermented grapes taste like. That being said, it is definitely on the sweet side but I think it's a nice blend. — 8 years ago
