Gorgeous. Brioche, roasted pineapple, hazelnut, lemon curd, burnt honey, white flowers. Lightly oxidized yet vibrant on the palate, nice acidity, very fine mousse. — 9 years ago

History began in 1886, when Josephine Marlin Tychson became the first woman to build and operate a winery in CA. The historic site where Josephine's winery, Tychson Cellars, is now known as Freemark Abbey. A blend of 83% Cabernet Sauvignon, 5% Merlot, 7% Cabernet Franc & 5% Petite Verdot, aromas of dark fruits, oak and spice. On the palate blackberry, currants, cacao and sweet spice. Full-bodied, tight with layers of fine soft tannins and a long and finish ending with fruit and oak, very pleasant. — 7 years ago

Very sentimental! Celebrating the birth of Josephine and remembering our trip to Champagne in 2010. Bright, lemony, and delicious! — 9 years ago
STUNNING. The expression of everything a California Cab Sauv should be. Huge nose of deep, dark raisin/blackberry with a layered structure of firm tannins. The saga-like finish leaves your palate with black cherries and slight oak spice. I'm in heaven. — 10 years ago
A favorite rose for the spring and summer. A little deeper than the Provençal rose's, but smooth, dry, and full of fruit. 2014 vintage. — 10 years ago
My wife went to the Boyd Vineyard last weekend on a private tour recommended by a colleague. She liked the 2010 Cab, Oak Knoll District so much, she had the vineyard ship a case home for my birthday. extremely smooth even without giving time to breathe. Not overpowered berry or other fruit, dry but without dust on the rim. You will make a good impression if you bring this to the next dinner party invite but volunteer to open on site as you may not find it again. Just returned from a business trip to my French parent company. I did not taste anything better over there. Concerned how the 2011 will fare given how that poor year is shaping up but there are exceptions, — 11 years ago
Sean Boyd nailed this Mourvèdre! Smoke, tar, blackberry compote, and wildflowers with a touch of salty sea air. In fact, I just want to keep my nose in the glass! I expected something big, like a Bandol. This is certainly relatively full-bodied, but the fruit, lean tannins, and a touch of succulent acidity are harmonious. I suspect this will easily cellar another 7-9 years. Paired with duck breast and asparagus and wild mushrooms. — 7 years ago
Small bottle of Billecart to celebrate our first night with Josephine:) — 9 years ago
