Wow! 2012 vintage opened August 2019. Incredible depth with tons of citrus fruit on the nose and lingering after. Loved this stuff! — 6 years ago
It’s nice pleasant wine with floral, bitter almond and citrus aromas. Dry, balanced acidity, alcohol and body. Quiet short length. — 7 years ago

Frankincense and myrrh, I feel like I am in a manger scene hanging out with some kings. Toast, roasted wood and oaky aromas open up to spice seasoning with a lashing of salt and acidity. Made in a solera style from multiple vintages this is a unique wine in every way. A heady Viura Rioja blanco experience, I highly recommend it. #newschoolrioja — 9 years ago

Smells like you want to eat it. Full of berries but very masculine on the palate, west coast wine merchants — 12 years ago
Not your typical California or French Rose, but $14.00 on sale it works
Definitely will decant my 2nd bottling
Winery Notes,
Honorío Rubio is a Riojano white and rosé specialist. In a land best known for its incredibly age-worthy reds, among many die-hards out there it is undoubtedly the traditional whites which represent Rioja's finest and most original wines. We would add as well the barrel aged rosés, which are incredibly rare (Lopez de Heredia's has not been available for over 5 years, and we hear that they will finally have a little bit of the next release, 2008, in 2018!) Honorío makes an absolutely killer rosé, from some of his oldest Viura and Garnacha, briefly macerated and co-fermented, then aged 16 months in used barrels (which previously held his Lias Finas white wine). An inimitable, rich and bright, incredibly food friendly style of rosé. — 6 years ago
Lovely winery, lovely wine. Aged better than expected. — 7 years ago
Big and bold, the nose is cigar box and leather. On the palate dark fruit, tobacco, cocoa, leather and oak. Chewy tannic finish with fine acid. — 8 years ago

Very tasty! Smooth. A little spicy. Is that plum? — 12 years ago
Nose of burnt honey, burnt caramel, burnt strawberry. Over ripe plum and peach.
Taste is a bright and clear peach. Like taking a bite of a ripe peach. Then falls into peach creme brulee. Long delicious finish — 6 years ago

Sipping Fine Wine
A joint venture of Jorge Ordonez, Bodegas Borsao and Chris Ringland, located in the town of Bulbuente (Zaragoza) Spain. Alto Moncayo is the flagship of the winery. A single-grape variety of Garnacha, from vines between 40 and 70 years old, aged in new barrels for 20 months. Bold aromas of fruit and spice. On the palate black fruit flavors, rich and full-bodied, with complex spice. Fine tannins, savory, good structure ending with a smoky character. Very nice! — 5 years ago
