'Hommage a Yves & Jean-Noel Pelletan' Cognac

Subtle and scotch-like in some respects, but nevertheless giving with strong scents of grape skin, wood spice, and white raisin. A bonkers proposition, not only was this Cognac aged in a handmade single cask by the Pelletans, the brandies that went into it are a blend of vintages ranging from 1925-1965 exclusively making this undoubtedly one of the rarest bottlings you could hope to get your hands on. Bottled at natural cask strength and with zero additives or artificial ingredients. Surprisingly pointed in its attack for something this old, but with the complexity and character you'd expect. — 3 years ago

L'Estimee Chassagne-Montrachet Pinot Noir 2008

Peking Duck at Sun Wah. This was super tight despite open an hour and car ride. Should've decanted back into bottle. Pretty light, but stemy and herbaceous. Pretty cool, excited to see the last bit on day two. Thanks Nelson! — 9 years ago

Clos Saint-Jean Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Chardonnay

Wow this was amazing.
I probably paid too much for it at $110 but it was worth it. Up front full of fruit but very smooth at 12 degrees. The finish was better, butter, slight fruit and very pleasing.

2007. Slightly flabby, perhaps the vintage. But aromatics are richer and more minerality — 9 years ago
