Initially nice with red fruits, opening up with more forest floor after about 15 mins. 30 mins later, the heat of the vintage comes out. So, really enjoyable, but only for a pretty narrow window of time. — 5 months ago

Demi-sec. Pineapple, honey, lemon rind. Not what I usually look for in Chenin, but this is undeniably a good wine. Elegant, full, and with a finish that just won’t quit. — 8 months ago

D'une finesse tout à fait exceptionnelle !
Très beau 2008 — 9 years ago
Such an interesting wine...not in the same league as the Marnes Bleues, but still pretty. Nose with distinct minerality, something really fresh like clean linen, orange peel, slight peppery spice, tiny hint of fennel? light on the jura funk though! Smooth and lithe on the palate, lemon, starfruit, balanced acidity...in fact, the whole package is well rounded...so tasty, mmmmmmm... — 9 years ago
Who knew Sancerre could age this well? — 12 years ago
October 2020 disgorgment is always so perfect, a particular favorite, with immense depth of red berry fruit and chalky minerality, a chiseled palate with singular texture and a finish that keeps on going. VO base with a touch of still Pinot from Francis Egly. Nothin’ like it 👑 — 4 months ago
A 2006 late harvest Romorantin from the Loire Valley. Off dry and delicious with food
Beeswax, hazelnuts, honeysuckle (def botrytised)
This wine leads with minerality but has flavors of lemon rind and stone fruit. 🫶 — 9 months ago
(It’s evening). Bright straw yellow. Pronounced nose. Blossom, peach, sweet yeastiness, gentle nuttiness, golden apples and pears, spicy chicken skin soup, sweet baking spices (vanilla, cinnamon). Deep and intense but round and broad, not piercing.
Dry, high acid, high alcohol, full, rounded body, hint of spritz, very saline, nice long finish. A bit austere. Couldn’t quite cope with brilllat savarin but great with the others.
Les Resistantes remains supreme. — 4 years ago
Interesting but a little too funky for me. Not that I didn’t finish my glass (or two)... — 6 years ago
Stone fruit, citrus, grass, great mineralogy and acidity. Fantastic Sancerre. Cellar for a few more years. — 9 years ago

Bought on release, $89.95, it’s gorgeous—but so tight at 21 years of age—surprisingly so. Fruit takes a back seat to acidity and structure as well as chalk and minerality. I really like this wine and it will live decades but tonight I’m happily sacrificing a little tooth enamel. — 3 months ago
