1985 Sassicaia. Dinner J&D B at Best. Did not decant. Drank before the ‘82 Haut Brion. Excellent. John says it is the best Sassicaia he’s had. Tons of fruit- dark berries. Really rich and round and plush. — 7 years ago
Deep in colour and looks like a big Auslese. Same as the 1990 but just a shade of mouthful sweetness. It’s still a pretty dry wine but hits the spot. — 7 years ago

A shockingly clean and dry Riesling with subtle skittles-like aroma. Significantly more enjoyable on day 2 (a decanter not available to me). I am far from an expert on this stuff but I would imagine some more years under the belt might help this yield more? Acid for days but not aggressive. Just tightly wound. This changed a few times over the course of 90 minutes. Eventually resulting in a very delicately perfumed wine with lime, white flowers, nectarine, and petrol. Medium acidity. Lighter texture on the palate. Great value, $65 on list — 7 years ago
