Very well balanced semi-dry. Has the zesty, moderate acidity of a dry Riesling to show off minerally and lime zest notes. Finishes sweet without being cloying. — 6 months ago

Have not had in 3.5 years and wow this is drinking so well. A superstar. Nose is all wet earth, decay, sweet spices and macerated cherries. Palate is a wonder of juicy cherry fruit, freshness and layered complexity. Dead leaves, buoyant acidity and a long, lingering finish. Needs some time to open but man is this great out of the bottle. As this airs the palate complexity is so compelling. The tannins are so oh so fine. This after many hours was so elegant and fine. Meaty and pure. This is drinking perfectly now after an hour open. — 6 months ago
We had the pleasure of opening the 2021 Hermann J. Wiemer.
On the nose there was nice strawberry, cranberry, raspberry, herbaceous notes and green bell pepper.
On the palate there was good strawberry, raspberry, red plum, green bell pepper, a bit of oak and crushed gravel.
This is a medium bodied wine with light velvety mouthfeel medium to medium + acidity and medium to medium + fine tannins that leaves with a medium to medium + red fruit gravel dust finish. Well it looks as though spring can't make up her mind. This weekend looks to be a bit on the cooler side so lets get out and enjoy ourselves. Please stay safe and healthy. Bruised apple, ripe pineapple, chamomile, white lilies, smokey, a hint of flint stone. Luscious and sophisticated, we really loved this wine. Looking forward to tasting other vintages. — 4 months ago
Great taste, can feel the liquor, nice for a cold day — 7 months ago
2008 vintage. Had never come across the "Little Hill" until today. Light-medium body. Decanted and was fairly musty for 2-3 minutes before it started to blossom. Some blue fruit/menthol/eucalyptus throughout the experience. Demonstrative spice component on the back end. Could really only ding this on being slightly "watery" on the front palate. Otherwise, this is kicking now and has plenty of life and love to give. 5.27.23 — 2 years ago

Such a beautifully expressive & high toned Langhe, if only other Langhe's could give back so much at a young age. — 9 years ago

Another tasty JSchram. While the prices keep climbing, these are very consistent US sparklers with a big house feel (vs the grower profile sparkling wines like Westborn, Haliotide, older Ultramarine, etc).
81% Pinot noir, 19% Chardonnay; 8g/l dosage
I’ve been enjoying the JSchram wines for a long time and a character I always get from them is a distinct cheesy/leesy aromatic. Roasted honey nut cashews, spiced apple, pear, and toasty vanilla. Richly balanced on the palate with honeyed tropical fruit, sea salt, and finishes slightly yeasty with a truffle note. The dosage, while on the high side for what I enjoy, brings out nice texture and length. Well made and ready to go.
I enjoy the JSchram Noir (formerly Schramsberg Reserve) on the younger side and the JSchram Blanc with a little age. — 4 months ago
