Pretty wound up. Wish we had decanted.

Nose isn't very giving, but sweet cherries, slight dried florals, very faint earth/mushroom/brett?, and a generous serving of spice/oak.

The palate is much more generous and cohesive. Very silky tannin. Finish was incredibly long. — 10 years ago

Tawny purple, opaque. With 3 hours of air the nose blossomed and exhibited the grace and power of a great Vosne. Notes of black cherries, Asian spice, some menthol, dark moist black soil, some sandalwood and a little rose petal. This powered up with air and showed its stuff over several hours of consumption. Pronounced mix of floral and mineral notes on both the nose and first sip--almost like an earthy, light red! But ripe lemons and pink grapefruit come on the back end and linger a while, only to have the floral return. Full bodied with lots of acid. An interesting, if odd balance of notes. — 10 years ago
