An instant favorite blend. Like a chocolate covered cherry bomb, but with more layers that I can’t explain. Medium to light tannins but the flavor profile more than make up for it. — 8 years ago
I've had this in the fridge for 20 minutes and it reads a perfect 18.0 degrees on the Vinotemp monitor. Ruby - purple colour to the wine and don't let its transparency fool you, this does have body and delivery! Instant thoughts were 'is this burgundy?!' (Despite obviously knowing better) it immediately reminded me of some of the darker - fruited and meaty interpretations of Pinot Noir from the Côte de Nuits but this feels ever so fresh. Olives in brine, blackberry and almost a dried prosciutto aroma the leaps out of the glass initially. The wine then started to show a lot more bright, red fruited character as time goes by. The olive brine and blackberry has nestled right in to the background playing quite a nice supporting role. Aromas of fresh raspberry, juiced oranges, ripe blueberry, sarsaparilla and a spicy, floral incense have arrived right at the forefront and there's barely noticeable oak work in sight. The palate follows with raspberry and blueberry but there's a dark chocolate that comes through with the faintest of bitterness, however not off-putting in the slightest. One very noticeable feature of structure here is alcohol; or the lack there of. I've found myself double checking the alcohol at times which sits at 12.5%. The palate flows seamlessly. There is a raspberry-like acidity and the softest lick of tannin. The balance here is admirable. Honestly, it's the type of wine I'm enjoying so much now for its freshness and I don't want to see this sit in my cellar for too long, in saying that I'd be very interested in seeing some bottle development in a few years time. — 8 years ago
Very primary after a 5 hour decant but a lot of class. Nicely balanced with dark sweet fruits, graphite and fig. I've been on the list since the start and Juan and company and their wines continue to ascend. I say hold for optimum drinking but instant gratification seekers need not tarry. — 9 years ago
Instant nose of American oak. Vanilla, coconut and dill. Inky and dark yet still lively on the palate. — 10 years ago
An instant favorite. Light tannins, perfect with the pork prepares. Crisps fruits. — 10 years ago

Faustino I from 1994, leather, dried dark fruit, instant coffee and bayleaf on the nose. Full bodied on the palate with vanilla, ceder and herbal raisins. Really smooth for a Rioja with great complexity. Amazing stuff! — 7 years ago
I've never had a wine so full of variety...and with such an overwhelming progression of tastes! I'm still not sure how I feel about it. It has so much texture and I am unaccustomed to this instant level change of flavour. The aftertaste that settles last on your tongue is extraordinarily pleasant and leaves me pensive whilst wanting to drink more to unravel the mystery of this beaut. — 8 years ago
So. Last night cooked a rack of dry-rubbed ribs in my Instant Pot. Tonight topped with Kinders BBQ sauce and put under broiler for a few minutes (best ribs I've had in years!!). Paired with mashed potatoes, Brussel sprouts, and this most delicious wine from Tanner Vineyards (Sierra Foothills). Some moments the cherry fruit stood out, others pepper, tobacco, and soft oak. Each sip a delight. Nice balanced acid too, I might add. Of course, now wish I had more bottles in my cellar. I guess I will just have to revisit the winery. Darn. (Mourvèdre, Carignane, Petit Syrah, syrah.) $26
Ps: I used smoked paprika instead of regular.

I remembered this to be a lot more Cabernet influenced and apparent. Other than its instant smack of Blackcurrant I'm not getting any of the classic eucalypt or menthol aromas that I remembered. In saying that, the fruitful and primary bouquet is still so luscious showing ripe plum, fresh blackberry and vanilla tobacco aromas. The palate is almost syrup-like and shows ripe plum character and some savoury plum too. The finish is long as hell on this, really loving it — 9 years ago
Instant Burg boner. From the minute it was opened, to the minute I drank the last sip. Great value. — 9 years ago
One of the best bottles I've had in 2015! Great dark fruit. Great aromatic nose. Super smooth, silky taste. Dry but inviting. Instant love and welcoming. Need to buy more and store to impress. — 10 years ago

Age makes such a difference. Rich, velvety, hints of vanilla and sweet oak. An instant trip back to Paso with one whiff off the nose. Epoch indeed!!! — 8 years ago
Top wine. Instant classic for me. — 9 years ago
Not usually a single varietal cab franc guy, but this was an instant favorite. Sampled 10+ other wines over the course of the day, but kept wanting more of this one. — 10 years ago
It began with an instant aroma. Dry and eclectic taste, a true to form chianti. After a few sips it began to form a robust, but subtle fruity flavor. A classic nonetheless. — 10 years ago
Visited this winery last September, instant olfactory memory. Lush dark fruits, silky structure, balanced tannins. I miss Tuscany. — 10 years ago
This wine was incredible! Deep red color with hints of cherry and strawberry. Very smooth from the instant opened. Nice long finish. — 12 years ago

Delicious black fruit instant on the nose; nose becomes flavor - dark cherry, blackberry, tannins a bit chewy still, but overall lovely wine — 7 years ago
