Feudi di San Marzano

Primitivo di Manduria 2012

Wow. Who knew we would find one of the best bottles on our trip so far at a "hypermarket" selling for €30. Primitivo, I understand to be similar to zin, is one of the two great reds produced in Puglia. Very elegant, easy on the palate and yet held up with red orechiette. — 9 years ago

Feudi della Medusa

Alba Nora Isola dei Nuraghi Chardonnay 2007

Tropical fruit. Low acidity, pineapple, guava, surprisingly lightly salty on the end. Long finish - she keeps giving. Yes, she is a she. Flirty, light, seductive. Bright yet welcoming. I like her !

Cutizzi Greco di Tufo 2013

Highly recommended by our Italian sommelier and it didn't disappoint. A touch more round than I expected, but the acids won the day. — 11 years ago

Munjebel PA (Porcaria) Etna Nerello Mascalese 2014

NerMasc Cru from the well known Feudi di Mezzo Contrada, I enjoyed this one more than MC, lush and velvety, enough tannins for structure, tasting notes read: the darkest of cherrys and JUICY #frankcornelissen #vulcanterroir — 9 years ago

Feudi di San Gregorio

Dubl Brut Falanghina

Minerality, white flower, white peach, delicate rose petals on the nose. Med body, high acid(wow), med p intensity, dry, bitter, yeasty med p finish with hint of green apple aromas. Good for shrimp with cocktail sauce but I drunk with pizza with olive, pomodoro, pancetta. Delicious apprentif. (Bubbles are not that tight, quite dry. Difficult to find residual sugar in this wine) — 9 years ago

Piano di Montevergine Taurasi Aglianico 2000

This is one of those nights. Not sure how the food is going to come out. Cooking with no particular wine choice in mind. But when it all comes together...wow!!

I paired this wine with gravy, courtesy of
@Peter Coticchia

The nose was clearly deep red fruit. Color was bright red on the brim. On the tongue, medium body and loads of cherry. The acidity was high, but still very balanced and well structured overall. A pure delight!!!

Wish I could have tasted! How was the sauce? Or as Brooklynites say "gravy".
