Yes. Poured from a magnum, this wine is intensely earthy on the palate and reflects its fossil-rich, mineralic soil at the base of a volcano. Beautiful sweet aromas of warm brown sugar, graphite, and black cherries. Similar on the palate with vanilla and sugar plums on the long finish. Not a hard edge to this wine. Silly smooth tannins. Awesomeness in a bottle. What u get when u take a vineyard that shares a fence line with screaming eagle and Russell Bevan as the wine maker. So there's sort of a hush in the room when you are lucky enough to taste great Burgundy. Thank you Robin! I'll be honest it took me to a place, for that I'm thankful I always would like to be taken to a place where that vine was growing. This wine spoke of a place, soil vs fruit, I really enjoyed tasting this wine, but it didn't harden my nipples. So we continue with that love/hate relationship with Burgundy. — 10 years ago
