Very tasty Bordeaux with a bunch of personality. Blackberries and cherries in abundance. — 8 years ago
Not bad all in all. Pretty good and would buy again but not a knockout. Pleasant. — 8 years ago
Just a beautiful wine! I've had this several times over the last few months and some bottles have been more advanced than others but this one was the most lively and fresh of the bunch. Wonderful cigar box, leather, earthy notes and very Bordeaux like. Doesn't get much better than this from Napa! This was drinking at peak and one of the best cabs I've had all year. — 10 years ago
Amazing deep colour, very fruity nose with a surprising flavour. Notes of apple and melon, with a lingering richness. — 11 years ago
Favorite Cab of the bunch. — 12 years ago

Not sure why they’re so angry, this wine is quite charming. Lots of big red jammy fruitiness. — 7 years ago
REALLY nice bottle of wine. This wine has a lot going on. Sourced from a 2.2 acre plot that is right across the street from Diamond Creek, the Dyers put love into everything they make. And it shows. This wine has a blackberry and floral perfume that is intoxicating. The nose was very reminiscent of Cab Franc and in a blind tasting that would have been my guess. The entry of this wine is delicately powerful. It has the blackberry power, the cassis of a younger wine, but the finesse in the middle with notes of graham cracker, grilled meats, herbs, pie spice, cola, and BRAMBLE....just a LOT going on here!! This wine is still very locked up, and takes a BUNCH of coaxing to get it out of its shell. Once it does, it does NOT disappoint. Very pumped about being able to spend some time with Dawnine and Bill in the next couple of weeks! — 8 years ago
Deep red purple, medium + tannin, on the nose is herbaceous, stemmy, bright lifted & peppery blackcurrent juice! Such a complex Shiraz! Had it with grilled steak and it is absolutely perfect! — 9 years ago
This is Grenache. Fucking fennel and lovley licorice. — 10 years ago
Whole bunch love!! Great tannins and deep black fruits. Almost briar like favours. Youthful acid, promising so much future. But given air now, she's a seductive minx. So velvety #bkwines #loveinaglass — 10 years ago
both the winemaker, and my, preferred vintage. what a humble, amazing lady. — 11 years ago
Another Super Tuscan that defies my humble descriptive abilities. — 11 years ago
Loving this! Great example of whole bunch use in Syrah! — 12 years ago
Super impressive Pinot. Handles the 40% new oak with aplomb and the whole bunch influence by no means dominating. Roses and peony flowers lead before dark cherry, plum and boysenberry, with nuances of stem use, slight smoky and touch sweet oak vaneer. Medium bodied, with fine, sappy tannins and superb supporting length. — 7 years ago
Probably the most twiggy/stalky of Steve Flamsteed’s single vineyard cuvees. Perhaps overdid the whole bunch ferment aspect a little bit here. A good savoury intensity with fluid smooth tannins. Well made as always. From the very good 2015 vintage in the Yarra Valley. — 7 years ago
It is such fun to taste moderately priced wines from humble origins that develop with cellar time. Bruised apple, pear, acacia honey and subtle mineral tones frame the nose. Waxy pear, lemon peel and apple dominate the palate. Dynamite acidity and minerality keep the wine in focus. Mineral. Earth and lanolin mingle with citrus fruit on a lively finish. — 8 years ago
This wine is getting better each time I try it. It still has years to go.
Amazing complexity and still a mouthful of fruit. John Harris, maybe you should have kept Jeff? Looking forward to your current wine in a bunch of years. All the beat to Bob — 8 years ago
Wicked cherry flavours from Grenache, good length, nice structure. 14.76 — 11 years ago

One of my favourite Aussie Pinots over the years such that we can usually pick it from its nose - same with Bass Phillip Pinot Noir. The Freycinet has spicy savoury dark cherry bouquet with a touch of caramel oak - the whole bunch influence integrated. Lovely balance on the medium bodied palate finishing with silky tannins. Always in the conversation when discussing Australia’s better Pinots. Made for extended cellaring of 15+ years from vintage. — 6 years ago
