A bit over the edge...won’t say pass by the hours of glory are behind. Still good acidity but short mouth fell. — 7 years ago
Delicious slightly tannic Burgundy at Bar in Mandarin Hotel in Boston. — 7 years ago
This is a very special wine for me. Chose the barrels at the Hospice in 2000 and won the lot in the auction with an old, dear friend William Brown. We swapped bottles as half were bottled with his name and half for Les Zygomates Paris/Boston for a restaurant I got to build with chef Ian Just. Bill (William) was instrumental in helping us open the Boston les Zygomates. It is also from my son Isaac's birth year. And it is drinking amazingly well, a little funk, soft red fruit, ripe plum and silky tannins. Thanks to my old ffriend and negociant Alex Gambal for "raising" the wine with such skill! — 9 years ago

Dark fruit on the nose with a slightly chlorinated note. Cool and focussed at the front of the palate. Good NSG depth. As it finishes slightly thinning with drying oak. Decent but in an odd place right now. It might resolve but it’ll be a masculine wine if it does. — 6 years ago

1998. Over the hill but showing hints of past glories. — 8 years ago
Great comp with'95 Nuits Lescure with RC 7/20/16. Nose had some kind of minty and earthy note that stood out but RC doesn't feel it. Palate also had notes that I feel are complex and earthy. Carried through to finish. Yum. RC says this is elegance. — 9 years ago
#birthyear murky brickish red. Still plenty of red and cherry fruit with some interesting spice. On the downward path but a few pleasant beverage. I think Dujac buys this RSV land later on. — 9 years ago
Good acidity, classic young Burgandy. — 6 years ago
Brown rim, berry / stone fruit. — 6 years ago
Double decanted at Ma Cuisine. Charming from the get go. Attractive nose of sweet spices and cool red berry fruit. Quite Vosne like. Very elegant and smooth on the palate, while slight astringency gives way to NSG. Later learned that the fruit is owned by Hospice de Nuits. Even more impressive considering Hubert Lignier doesn't own the vineyards. Personally a fan of Les St George made by Lignier and Faiveley. I have go to try the Chevillon and Gouge to see how the style differs for this terroir! — 7 years ago

Held up nicely. Dark, iron-rich, brooding. Still considerable fruit left. Classic N-S-D. — 9 years ago
