I gave instructions to get the 2013 Rhys Horseshoe Syrah, but this is what came up. Oh well. A lovely bottle. The nose is intoxicating: blackberry crisp, bramble, cola, soft olive, and fantastic salinity. On the palate, good acid, but maybe a touch softer than I would like. More cola, blackberry, soft olive. Good density, but perhaps thins out a little quickly. On the finish, the tannins are fine, but have a slightly pasty air. Very nice. Probably could have waited longer, but this is drinking well now. — 5 years ago

A gorgeous blend of grapes. Exotic floral nose, Hellagood weight, dark dried fruit, wonderful horseshoe tannins. This is a great wine. Easy goto, easy lay down, yet only for a Few years. Lingering tings of acidity. — 10 years ago
Davis Family Pinot Noir!! My new love — 11 years ago
Really enjoyed this! Much richer in mouthfeel than some of the other vintages and vineyards (Horseshoe, Bearwallow). — 6 years ago
A field of fresh real strawberry mingled with blackberry bramble and mint.
This nose continues to influence the wines light bodied flavor nuances.
Cherry skins, ripe red fruits, feathery vanilla tannins, crisp and well integrated horseshoe acidity. (Front and sides of tongue)
Delightful.

Horseshoe Bend Traminette. Soft upfront with a hint a sweet apples and grapefruit. At the vineyard - the hardest winery to find in Kentucky. — 11 years ago

After an afternoon on the lake, we settled in for some pasta...and some Pinot. DFV seems to over deliver every time I pull a bottle. Beautifully textured, elegant and creamy raspberry and subtle earthiness. Fabulous blend from two distinct vineyards, Horseshoe Bend and Campbell Ranch. — 7 years ago

Drank side by side with a Rhys Horseshoe Chard. Very similar. Lemon zest, some clarified butter, and a good balance of acidity. Good minerality and a good wine. — 10 years ago
